Anti-Stimulus petition offensive?
We read:
"Facebook, one of the Internet's top social networking sites, has kicked out a conservative group's Web site --"NoStimulus.com" -- from its paid advertising space. NoStimulus.com, which is promoting a petition to stop President Obama's economic stimulus bill, is sponsored by the nonprofit conservative group Americans for Prosperity.
But Facebook, which confirmed that it took "NoStimulus.com" down, told CNSNews.com that it did so because of user complaints: "At Facebook, we strive to create a trusted environment for our users and advertisers," Facebook spokeswoman Erin Zietler said in an e-mail. "We encourage users to report any advertisements they find offensive or misleading, and we offer the ability for them to provide immediate feedback on our ads. We have a team dedicated to investigating ads and user complaints.

Facebook ducked and weaved about why they banned the ad but soon unbanned it when their actions got a lot of publicity. Full story here

So if I complain that there are Muslims conversing on Facebook, and that their discussions offend me, will they ban them from Facebook? Nope. Likely, I'll be banned because I am a complaining Christian.

No, they've created a mob-rule environment which will keep out anything the masses deem to be the "offensive".
The mistake here was questioning the porkulous plan of the annointed one. You cannot question the new messiah and get away with it.
I have often complained about the homosexual ads I keep seeing on Facebook, as well as the misleading ads about getting $13,000 from Obama's plan (which hasn't even been passed yet), and yet I haven't seen them removed, in fact, I seem to see them more often since I said they offend me.
I'm offended by the offended, so I guess I find myself offensive!
Be prepared for more leftist-inspired censorship like this. As we all know, or should know, the left will not tolerate anything they disagree with, or anything they don't want the masses to know. Of course, they call that tolerance.
And for those fools out there who still believe this is a free country, pay attention!

Not the masses, sir, but the vocal few. The masses, in general, are a sober, complacent lot, and getting them fired up about anything generally requires a lot of effort.
However, getting the Zealots fired up about even minor things is much easier - and if only 100 Obamanauts complain to Facebook, it looks like a tidal wave compared to the normal level of feedback they get.

ghoward79, you are on to something. The liberals politicians screamed that their patriotism should not be questioned when the things they were saying publicly were undermining thing our troops were trying to accomplish. Now if conservatives complain about the mother of all pork bills, they are somehow unpatriotic.
