"Crusaders" a VERY bad word in Britain
The fact that the original Crusaders were just trying to push back a Muslim invasion of formerly Christian territory must not be mentioned, of course. Muslim invasion = Good; Western invasion = Bad
"A cricket team has been forced to change its name after angry complaints from Muslims and Jews. The Middlesex Crusaders, who have played under the name for almost 10 years, will play next season as The Panthers. Bosses at the county club acted after protests about the name from Jewish and Muslim communities, who said they felt it was a reference to the religious wars waged by Christians in Europe against other faiths.
But Middlesex members condemned the decision to change the team's name and described the move as "batty". "The world really has gone mad," one said. "It's a real kick in the teeth and is bound to upset a lot of fans."

In my first year of High School (about 50 years ago), I joined a small and very harmless Christian Bible study group called the Crusaders. If only I had realized how offensive I was being!

Jihad = Neverending offensive religious war of conquest and forced slavery against all non-muslim peoples.
Crusade = Long since ended defensive religious wars to preserve the western world and Christian civilization from forced slavery to islam.

The crusades were not a simple us against them war. There is plenty of evidence of Muslim/Catholic conclusions that shifted like the desert winds at the whim of fancy.
That said there is no compelling reason to change the name of a sports team called the Crusaders because of a couple of troublemakers. England needs to start a kindergarten for PC ninnies. You all seem to be forgetting one small FACT: If a Muslim takes control of land in the name of Islam, that land is and forever will be Muslim land. Why do you think there is such strife in Jerusalem? The land was originally Jewish land, but later taken over by Muslims, so now, regardless of who originally or currently occupies it, it will always be considered Muslim land.
And why do you think Muslims were so hot on trying to get Obama tied to Islam and then becoming President? If they could establish a Muslim as leader of the country, then it's a simple declaration that Islamic law trumps U.S. Constitutional law.
