Actress fired by Jewish boss for comparing someone to Hitler

We read:
"Megan Fox didn't quit the latest Transformers film to pursue other acting opportunities. She was fired because she upset Steven Spielberg.

The 25-year-old actress was dumped and replaced by Victoria Secrets model Rosie Huntingdon-Whitley after she compared the film's director, Michael Bay, to Hitler in a magazine interview.

The comparison angered Spielberg, who is executive producer of the Transformers series and deadly serious when it comes to Nazis.

Bay revealed for the first time he was told to get rid of Fox. "You know the Hitler thing. Steven (Spielberg) said, fire her right now," he said ahead of the premiere of Transformers 3.

Bay said he wasn't hurt by the Hitler comment. However, Spielberg is known to be sensitive when it comes to Nazis. After his experience directing Schindler's List, he founded the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation, which furthers the remembrance of the Holocaust of World War II.

"But Bush=Hitler is OK, of course"

and Obama=Hitler is OK too, of course.

To Anon 12:16,

More like Obama=Stalin, Obama=Mao, Obama=Castro. There that's all better now. No hurt feelings, as these are all lefty heros.

I've read various other comments by Ms. Fox in the past. For as pretty as she is, her character has lead to some very ugly statements. I'm not surprised that her mouth got her in trouble.

The situation reminds me of this proverb:

Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout
is a beautiful woman without discretion.

Nazi references should be used for only the truly evil; Hitler, George Bush, anyone who even thinks of disagreeing with President Obama, or anyone who uses logic or reason in a debate...

Did anyone that did the Bush=Hitler thing work for Spielberg and not get fired? If so, then the question is valid, otherwise it is irrelevant in this bit.

The boss needs a kick in the rear right out the front door of the studio

It's ironic how when a Jew complains about someone using the Hitler reference, he is chastised, but when someone uses the Hitler reference he is given a pass. Kinda like how if a black uses the word "nigger", it's OK, yet when a non-black uses the word "nigger" it's hate speech and the world is coming to an end.

Several weeks ago, I made the decision to leave this website because, although I think it's a great site and, although I have the greatest respect for Jon Ray, I think that this site has attracted some very sick people.

But I had a chat with Jon and decided to return for a while.

One of these is Dr. No. I don't know much about the personal politics of Steven Spielberg but, regardless of what it may be, I deeply resent the automatic classification of a breed of people called "leftist jews" (and note the lower case letters). Sick people like Dr. No can't address people for being "leftist". They have to be "leftist jews" (his lower case). Then he makes the outrageous statement that Stalin murdered 60 million Jews. Or does Dr. No intend to imply that the Germans didn't murder 6 million Jews. If he is a Holocaust denier, then perhaps that explains a few other things about his comment.

I would like the regulars at this site to know that Republican Jews, observant Jews, like the Jewish society in which I live, are also very sensitive to Hitler comparisons because such comparisons white-wash Hitler.

Dr. No. I await your apology.

Calling a domineering person a Hitler is pretty common and hardly worth comment usually

So the fact that Spielberg is Jewish is relevant in this case.

It makes otherwise petty behavior understandable.

Jews have good reason to be sensitive about Hitler mentions

And Dr Lewin has good reason to be outraged at silly comments by Dr No

But silly comments in discussion threads are after all a dime a dozen so getting offended by them could get exhausting.

I just try to tell things like they are and somehow manage not to be upset that I cannot put everyone right

Dr. Lewin,

It will be a cold day in hell before you get anyone here to back down and issue an apology. Maybe I'm wrong, but don't hold your breathe waiting for one.

The thing I don't understand about the holocaust is why its so much worse than all of the other governments sponsored murder campaigns that have happened in the last 100 years.

I'm not trying to be insensitive, or hurtful. Are you sensitive because it was a group you belong to that was murdered? Is it because it was racially motivated? Would it be better if the murder victims were random? Is there any case for killing another human being outside of self defense?

Aren't the five hundred thousand iraqi children that died in the 90s because they couldn't get chlorine and other supplies just as dead?

Is it the number of people that died? Because stalin and mao each killed many more than hitler.

I guess the reason this bothers me is that rather than whitewashing the sins of Hitler, we are whitewashing the sins of government. The Idea is that the only reason the holocaust happened is because the german government was filled with such bad people, but governments are always filled with bad people. Governments always kill their own people, and other nations people. Governments always seek to grow their own power.

Right now agents of the united states government are kicking in doors, searching cars, and homes, checking papers, and feeling the genitals of people that only want to get on a plane. Oh, and if anyone resists this, they will put them in a cage. Resist too much and they will be killed. Is this better than Nazi Germany? Perhaps in scope, but not in principle.

This is all happening to other people though, so its ok, right? Or is that exactly what the non jews in germany said?

That "Use the Force, Luke" post is not me. My handle is a takeoff of that quote, but based on the trollish use of "Anonymous" in this forum. IMNSHO, that is highly inappropriate to impersonate another poster—even just using a very similar handle—and should be removed.

I can certainly see Dr. Lewin's point. Unfortunately, this blog has some of the most uncivilized commentors of any blog I visit regularly.

Duh.

I assumed "our" Luke was taking his handle from St.Luke in view of his apparently strong religious opinions, rather than some sci-fi figure. I guess he's more superficial than I thought.
