US House votes against internet regulation

We read:
"The House of Representatives approved a measure on Friday that would prohibit the Federal Communications Commission from regulating how Internet service providers manage their broadband networks, potentially overturning a central initiative of the F.C.C. chairman, Julius Genachowski. ...

Republicans in the House maintained that the order exceeded the F.C.C.’s authority and put the government in the position of overseeing what content a consumer could see and which companies would benefit from Internet access."

Neither side is telling the truth here. The (R)s don't want the FCC involved in telling the corp contributors how they can bias the flow of data to or from diffrent content providers, the (D)s want the FCC involved so if they can get the new improved version of the Fairness Doctrine in place it can be applied to the internet too.

Both still want to stomp on your rights and stiffel free speech, just for different reasons.

If ISP's want inject bias into the flow of data that is their corporate right to do so. If you are unhappy with that then find a new ISP who gives you the bias you like. The marketplace will provide a level playing field for those that value their customers and collapse those that don't.

Perhaps the FCC should take on the search engines and their corrupt practice of biasing search lists for profit or politics? I won't hold my breath on that one since some seem to be openly in bed with the administration.

Keep the government out of the internet if you value your freedom of speech.
