CBS urged to scrap pro-life ad
The feminists haven't even seen the ad but they want to ban it. No criticism of abortion may be allowed.
"A national coalition of women's groups called on CBS on Monday to scrap its plan to broadcast an ad during the Super Bowl featuring college football star Tim Tebow and his mother, which critics say is likely to convey an anti-abortion message. "An ad that uses sports to divide rather than to unite has no place in the biggest national sports event of the year -- an event designed to bring Americans together," said Jemhu Greene, president of the New York-based Women's Media Center.
The center was coordinating the protest with backing from the National Organization for Women, the Feminist Majority and other groups.
CBS said it has approved the script for the 30-second ad and has given no indication that the protest would have an impact. A network spokesman, Dana McClintock, said CBS would ensure that any issue-oriented ad was "appropriate for air."
The ad -- paid for by the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family -- is expected to recount the story of Pam Tebow's pregnancy in 1987 with a theme of "Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life." After getting sick during a mission trip to the Philippines, she ignored a recommendation by doctors to abort her fifth child and gave birth to Tim, who went on to win the 2007 Heisman Trophy while helping his Florida team to two BCS championships.

Typical liberals. If you don't agree with me you must be silenced. Why the hell are they so pissed about a commercial that encourages women to CHOOSE life? That isn't taking away anyone's choice.
"An ad that uses sports to divide rather than to unite has no place in the biggest national sports event of the year -- an event designed to bring Americans together,". Isn't it comical how "dividing" and "bring Americans together" is always used to mean that you have to go along with my ideas. Never does it mean that I should go along with yours.
I'm struggling to find how this particular ad is divisive...
They complain that it will lead to violent attacks on abortion providers.
Maybe they should worry more about the botched abortions that kill hundreds of times more people than the once a decade occasional loon.
and once again, the intolerant are preaching about tolerance.

Darko, the actual complaint is that the ad dares to challenge the Left.
As of today, (1/27) CBS (believe it or not) said they WILL run the ad, which is an incredible stance for this network to take given it's Leftist history. It just shows you how things are turning around in this country.
Some day, we may actually want to thank Reid, Pelosi, et. al. and the head liar, Chairman Obummmer, for finally killing Leftism!
"Why the hell are they so pissed about a commercial that encourages women to CHOOSE life? That isn't taking away anyone's choice." I have to agree Liz.
How do you argue on the side of pro murder and not sound like some sort of monster? "You can't run an ad that might persuade a woman to keep her unborn baby because we want her to kill it"... I mean come on, why in the world can't the pro life side seem to make these idiots look like Satan himself?

Having watched the fans at various sporting events, I would not say that sports unite us. I would guess the Colts fans and Saints fans will be about as friendly with each other as Republicans and Democrats.
Besides, if you make all of your choices based on Super Bowl ads, you are in a very sorry state.
Come one folks, we can't allow this add to run.
After all why would you want a woman "burdened with a child?"
/ Sarcasm off
"Come one folks, we can't allow this add to run."
I'd rather have a subtract to run.
You are all missing the point. It's not simply the ad that is inciting the pro-abortion forces. It is, as We The People stated above, having the audacity to challenge the left and it's never-ending lust for control over everyone and everything.
I am a lot more offended by those ads that promise you to lose weight fast, to get ripped muscles in 30 days, or to make millions in real estate.
If the pro-choice people were really pro-choice they wouldn't be against an ad that encourages a different choice.
As for me, I wish more women made the choice of taking birth control pills, then they wouldn't have to worry about unplanned pregnancies.
"As for me, I wish more women made the choice of taking birth control pills, then they wouldn't have to worry about unplanned pregnancies."
I have been saying that for years. I am pro choice, you have the choice to wear a condom, take the pill, not have sex....
"I have been saying that for years. I am pro choice, you have the choice to wear a condom, take the pill, not have sex...."
---Exactly! Yet people choose to be stupid and take chances. Seriously, if a prostitute makes her clients wear condoms, why can't a normal woman do the same?
If women would just swallow, none of this would matter.
