The “Transparency” President strikes again

TSA useless against bombers so they raid bloggers instead
"As the government reviews how an alleged terrorist was able to bring a bomb onto a U.S.-bound plane and try to blow it up on Christmas Day, the Transportation Security Administration is going after bloggers who wrote about a directive to increase security after the incident.

“TSA special agents served subpoenas to travel bloggers Steve Frischling and Chris Elliott, demanding that they reveal who leaked the security directive to them. The government says the directive was not supposed to be disclosed to the public.”

Frischling said he met with two TSA special agents Tuesday night at his Connecticut home for about three hours and again on Wednesday morning when he was forced to hand over his lap top computer. Frischling said the agents threatened to interfere with his contract to write a blog for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines if he didn't cooperate and provide the name of the person who leaked the memo.

The TSA directive outlined new screening measures that went into effect the same day as the airliner incident. It included many procedures that would be apparent to the traveling public, such as screening at boarding gates, patting down the upper legs and torso, physically inspecting all travelers' belongings, looking carefully at syringes with powders and liquids, requiring that passengers remain in their seats one hour before landing, and disabling all onboard communications systems, including what is provided by the airline.

Very heavy-handed. There was nothing in the directive that was worth keeping secret so what does it matter once it has been made public? The raids on the bloggers were just a warning to "Keep your mouth shut".

The same thing happened recently at the blog This Ain't Hell. The blog posted the record of Major Nidal Hassan proving he had never been overseas despite the so-called MSM using that line to rationalize his killing 14 people. The Army CID raided the bloggers and confiscated a computer and copied his hard drive. They are more interested in keeping the truth from getting out than keeping terrorists from killing people.

I wonder what the Left would be saying now if this was done by the Bush administration. By now, we'd be seeing protests, marches, and sit-ins, and all meticulously covered by the sympathetic MSM. But because it's Mullah Obama, nothing. American voters need to learn something for the next election cycle;

Don't believe everything you read, only half of what you see, and none of what you hear!

When the Bush Administration suffered leaks like this, they rarely attacked the press. They went after the internal leaks!

The "No News is Good News" Obamanauts feel that a free press is contrary to their agenda. Just sit in your basements and chant "Hope and Change....Hope and Change" and all will be alright - ignore the bodies falling from the sky!

I'm sick of the TSA, they are just like the ATF, unelected, accountable to no one, with absolute power. Besides, it wasn't them that saved us from terrorism, the last time, it was a dutch passenger.

I don't think it's entirely fair to blame this particular travesty just on Obama. After all, the TSA (Travel Suppression Agency) was formed under Bush's watch and it seems that their policies haven't been changed significantly by Obama.

liberals will commit S.I.N. on this one as they usually do

Switch the subject
Ignore the facts
Name call and blame

---True, but I'm sure Obama's people told the TSA to avoid profiling. I know a girl from Iran who immigrated to England as a child and alter Canada, the woman coudln't hurt a fly. Yet when Bush was president and she flew to America to study there, she was profiled twice at the airport or so she told me. That's the way it should be.

"We no longer seem to be living in a constitutional republic. How could we be when the votes of our public officials are easily bought off with bribes, threats, and subversion of our Constitution? The Christmas fiasco of the Senate vote-buying ordeal to pass the health care bill is a perfect illustration of how Congress is out of control and no longer represents the will of the people. "

Here in NYC's JFK airport, there was a private company handling baggage check-ins and "security" prior to 9/11. It's employees were mostly fat, lazy, blacks who spent most of their time and energy avoiding any type of work. Many were/are former welfare recipients, many with criminal records. (JFK still has one of the highest rates of "theft-by-employees" of any US airport) After 9/11, "these same people" were simply made Federal agents of the TSA. And aside from their uniforms, and their higher salaries, nothing else has changed.

This same company still has it's people in charge of traffic at the terminal entrances where passengers and bags are picked-up "and dropped-off". They are "all" black, with the vast majority here illegally (meaning, they are virtually unknown) from places like Nigeria, one of the most lawless places on earth. Personally, i have not see conditions like these at any other airport in the country.

BTW, if you're ever at JFK you need to understand some of the rules. If you have several dollar bills in your hand, (for the "guards") you can park as long as you like in front of the terminal entrances. And, if you care about your personal property, don't let it out of your sight! It is the only airport i've seen where someone off the street can walk in, pick-up luggage from the carousels, and simply walk out with no security check.

There is one other very important thing that has changed: They (and their employer) can no longer be sued for anything.

So normal air travelers have to put up with: (1) thorough searches that should be saved for the truly suspicious (read Muslim), (2) having to take their shoes off because of the would-be shoe bomber, (3) government harassment and legal trouble if they complain about an unreasonable search, (4) criminals with badges employed by the airlines stealing their stuff, (5) TSA personnel confiscating their toiletries, medicines, etc. in liquid form because Muslims once plotted to use such things to blow up flights three and a half years ago, (6) rude flight attendants with the power to turn in anyone who complains about them, (7) having to stay in your seat for the final hour of a flight, even if you really have to take a leak or dump really badly, all because of the would-be underwear bomber, (8) the same TSA personnel who harass innocent travelers who have nothing in common with Muslim terrorists who want to commit mass murder, allowing the Muslims who intend mass murder to get on board the flights, (9) prohibitions on having weapons available to take out the evil predators so that you're subject to their non-existent mercy, (10) whatever other restrictions which inconvenience normal people but fail to stop determined terrorists that I have forgotten. Somehow I think I would rather get an ass-kicking than fly. Even getting the rough end of the pineapple shoved up where the sun don't shine may be less painful than flying.

You're right. Good point. Every time something happens, the govt. puts more idiotic rules in place. They are simply part of a show, since they obviously don't stop anyone who is determined to commit terrorism.

Here is the simple truth about terrorism that anyone who has dealt with it knows. There is no real defense against it! The best you can hope for is to create little deterrents, which don't last very long, since the enemy is not dumb. They watch CNN too.

Here's another simple truth. Terrorists don't pick on the Isreali airline. Why? Because they know Isreal is not crippled by political correctness, or Miranda warnings, "racial" profiling, or constitutional rights for foreign killers, as is the US. We have become the worlds biggest target, and it's our own doing because of our well-known weaknesses.

"Cash for Clunkers is an apt name for the "pay for play" whores on Capitol Hill. Like all ‘clunkers’, these Capitol Hill cretins are past their prime, no longer capable of performing their assigned - Constitutionally-defined - functions, and cost a lot more than they’re worth to maintain. If they want to whore themselves out, let them stand on a street corner and ply their trade like the rest of the skanks."

If a plane I'm in refuses to let me use the toilet when I really need to, I will piss on their floor (they will discover that later, but in a way not to be sure of the actual seat number).
