Must not joke about Jews

We read:
"McGillion said Friday a woman sent an e-mail to a team official this week claiming Tynan made the remark while the woman was being shown an apartment in the building where he lives.

The real estate agent reportedly said to Tynan, "They are not Red Sox fans." He responded: "As long as they're not Jewish."

In an e-mail to the AP, Tynan said he'd previously spoken to the real estate agent about two Jewish women who had looked at the apartment and "how scary for them it would be for living next to me with my music and singing."

Tynan confirmed his remark to the team official but said he was joking, McGillion said, and the Yankees severed ties with him.

Tynan said Saturday the woman, Gabrielle Gold-von Simson, a doctor at New York University, accepted his apology and that he made a contribution to the charity, KiDs of NYU.

Slow news day?

Perhaps Mr. Tynan doesn't want professional whiners and complainers in his building? Or, maybe his sense of humor hasn't been authorized by the neighborhood Leftist committee, which is probably made-up of jews. And if it's NYC, it most definitely is.

It's rather sad that a highly-protected and pampered group of people who have made enormous gains around the world simply by using America's sympathy for those who whine the loudest (and the longest) have yet to figure out a way to make their skin just a bit thicker. And yet, generally speaking, these are the same people who believe everyone should have the right to say anything about anyone. Just not them i guess.

---Oh really? So when Steven Spielberg makes a film everyone goes out to watch it because he's Jewish?

Everyone who's offended will whine the loudest, ask any evangelical who raised hell when Wal-Mart decided NOT to say Merry Christmas a few years ago.

As for the issue at hand, whenever you write an e-mail with your real name and directed to someone who could pass it along you're putting your employment as risk.

The corporate world isn't like being at home in your underwear, if you're going to say something offensive make sure you do it verbally, that way you can deny it later.

What email are you talking about? The only email in the story was sent by the woman to the Yankees summarizing the incident.

The comment was said at the home of the man. While it hurt him professionally, at least he had the moral and intestinal fortitude to acknowledge what he had said.

While it is easy to say that his comment was anti-Semitic at worst or a bad joke at best, he owned up to it. It is good to know that at least there are some people who won't lie to get out of a jam of their own making.

---I don't know all the details, all I know is you can get hurt for whatever you say on facebook, linkedin, or e-mail if you're using your real identity.

For example, a woman who runs a White Supremacist blog lost her job after other people reported her to her government employer. It sucks but people have to realize that typing with your real name is the equivalent of showing up to your boss's house in your underwear.

Try the following experiment, type your name in google and see what comes out, because whatever you get others can get.

Can't you ever admit that you misread the article and just say that you were wrong?

Ever?

Once?

Obviously you don't have the same integrity as Tynan.
