TX: Students threatened by college over gun safety tips flyer

"After distributing a jocular flyer listing 'Top Ten Gun Safety Tips' at the school's 'club rush,' a student group was threatened with probation and derecognition at Lone Star College-Tomball, a public college near Houston.
After college officials banned the Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) from distributing the flyer, the school's general counsel invoked the specter of the Virginia Tech shootings, suggesting that even a `mention of firearms and weapons' is inherently a 'material interference' with the school's operations.
The group has turned to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) for help."

That's right. And next week, merely thinking of guns will get you thrown out! All students will be compelled to submit to brain-scans to make sure they have no thoughts of firearms!
I understand how the word 'gun' can cause liberals to shake in their boots. After all, the words 'liberal' and 'socialist' cause me to have all kinds of negative feelings. Maybe those words should be banned. Under PC thinking liberals and socialists would then disappear.

I would not like to have to defend this bone-headed assertion by the school's counsel in court.
The mistake the students made was that they assumed the left in this country is concerned about and adamantly against unsafe private firearms handling or ownership.

The left in this country is concerned about and adamantly against ANY private firearms handling or ownership in this country unsafe or otherwise.
Lord preserve their innocence. But they will prevail in court.

Since this is clearly a case of unconstitutional censorship would that make the confiscation of the flyers an act of theft?
