Must not joke about race

We read:
"The Republican Party of Texas will donate proceeds from a vendor who sold a racist campaign badge at the state convention last weekend to mid-western flood victims, a party spokesman said today. A vendor called Republicanmarket.com sold a badge that said "If Obama is president ... will we still call it The White House?" The badge was sold in a pavilion adjoining the convention hall in Houston."

Political correctness will destroy this country and the way things are going, maybe it should. Perhaps we can do a better job next time around.

Free speech is down the toilet

I'm sorry, but I happen to think the Party is doing the right thing in this context.

1) The man suffered no governmental retaliation as a result of his obviously racist jokes.
2) The money will be put to good use helping those ravaged by nature.
3) The Party is seen to be less than completely tolerant of those who would smear Obama on the sole "issue" of his mixed-race heritage.

There are SO many other issues to attack Obama on, I don't know why anyone uses the "race" angle.

Considering that text to be racist is idiotic.
Apologising for something an independent 3rd party did is even more idiotic.

The GoP has clearly lost their spine (as if we'd not seen that over and over again over the last several years).
