Must not Insult "Turkishness"

Even in fiction

A character in a novel by a famous Turkish novelist refers to the massacre of around a million Armenians by Turks around a hundred years ago as "genocide". Fair enough? Not in Turkey. Turkey is a Muslim country so it is OK for Turks to be violent and then condemn people for calling them violent.

So the novelist is on trial for using that nasty "g-word" about Turkey. Details here.

My previous post on the Armenian genocide was on May 17th.
