"A Texas teacher is fighting to keep her job after she told a student “Go back to Mexico.”
Shirley Bunn, a math teacher at Barnett Junior High School in Arlington, Texas, acknowledged she lost her temper on Sept. 30 while handing forms out to students in her class, Dallas-Fort Worth’s Fox 4 reported.
According to public records, a disruptive student was repeatedly requesting a form printed in Spanish by saying, “I’m Mexican. I’m Mexican.” Bunn, a two-time “Teacher of the Year” with 24 years of teaching experience, attempted to tell the student he could get the form in the office but he continued to repeat, “I’m Mexican.”
“[Then] go back to Mexico,” Bunn shot back.
She was immediately placed on paid leave the day of the incident and is still waiting for the school board to rule next month on whether she should be reinstated.

The guy kept insisting he was Mexican so I can hardly see how telling him to go there would be offensive at all.
If we hadn't turned into a nation of weak, mindless sheep, this teacher would not be punished, but instead, put in charge of her entire school district. The story also shows why we've become, "the most" disrespected nation on the planet. Our actions prove it is a title we richly deserve.
Were "I'm Mexican" his exact words? If so, he's speaking English. I guess the teacher's response should have been "learn English".

Total over reaction by the school. The kid is living and going to school in an English speaking country. He should expect to speak, read and write English.
If he wants to speak, read and write Spanish, he can go back to Mexico.
This another case in which a law suit by the teacher against the school district is justified (if she loses her job).

The only real difference here is that the Europeans came with swords, guns, and troops into a land where there was no over-arcing government. The Europeans brought industry and people with strong work ethics to a region that was virtually untapped.
The Mexicans are coming here with nothing in their pockets, no work ethic, and expectations of entitlement from an already established government.
Sorry, but I'll fight along side my patriotic brothers to repel the infestation that is souring this country.

Spanish is a language of poverty, crime, and thuggish socialism. I might suggest we start teaching Tammil and Hindi in school, but since there are more English speakers in India than in the United States, maybe we should just go back to teaching English?

He obviously spoke english well enough to tell the teacher he was Mexican. Let him have the form in english.
The child was disruptive and apparently wilfully so - he should be punished for this.
The teacher lost her temper and said something that suggested the child was unwelcome in the class (where she said to go is, IMHO, immaterial) - she should be disciplined for that.
The kid should get some detention and apologise, the teacher should have a little time to cool off and apologise.
No-one needs to lose their job over this minor incident.

Maybe some do that but mostly they come here with the intention of getting a job, earning money and supporting family. Otherwise we'd have to create a dust bowl of Oklahoma again to get people to pick vegetables and fruits in California.
Frankly a large part of the Hispanics (from many parts of South America, not just Mexico though they face extreme danger in crossing Mexico) come here in order to better their lives and the lives of their families.
7:01 - The indigenous "indians" being the first people to populate the Americas were by definition not displacing anyone else, and any wildlife they killed had no impact on the general environment, unlike the euro immigrants who shot buffalo (bison) in huge numbers just for so-called sport, and of course polluted the pristine envionment beyond all recognition, and continue to do so.

Bullsh*t. We have people out of work who are just too lazy to do the work because our government provides no accountability. We give extend and extend and extend unemployment and then gleefully put them on Welfare. After a couple generations, they are less concerned with being productive members of society than they are with getting their next meth fix, the latest X-Box game, or the latest pair of gym shoes.

I commend them for their determination and motivation, but they are still doing it illegally as criminals. And as criminals, they should be treated as such.
If I came over to your house and said, "I just left my family, my friends, and my job to better myself. I'm shacking up here for an undetermined time, so I expect you to give me a room, feed me, and school my kids." You'd call the police and have them arrested in a heartbeat.

Illegal immigrants still pay sales tax.
They all buy service and goods. What is left over, they *may* send to Mexico.

Well the pass out was a Title 1 form for the PARENT not the student so maybe he actually did need one for his parents.
