Teacher suing for the right to use the 'N Word' in class

We read:
"A white teacher is suing for the right to utter a racial epithet during discussion with his students about the perils of offensive vocabulary, after he was suspended for using 'verbally abusive language'.

In a lawsuit fled against Chicago's board of education, Lincoln Brown claims that his use of the word "n***er" during a conversation with students was a constitutionally-protected attempt to teach his class "an important lesson in vocabulary, civility and race relations".

The incident arose after his sixth-grade pupils - aged between 11 and 12 - were left "unsettled and arguing" over a note that one of them had passed around class, containing lyrics to a rap song that included the racially offensive term.

Mr Brown consequently started with them "a discussion about how upsetting such language can be, attempted to give his own denunciation of the use of such language and discussed how even such books as Huckleberry Finn were being criticised for the use of the N-word," the lawsuit states.

As the discussion was taking place inside his classroom at the Murray Language Academy, where the majority of students are black, the head teacher, who is black, passed by and overheard. Mr Brown was then suspended for five days for "using verbally abusive language" in front of pupils.

Mr Brown, 48, who teaches writing and social studies, said that he was simply exercising his responsibility to educate children against racism.

Isn't it ironic that blacks, (with the ever-present support of their bleeding-heart White enablers) would complain about the use of a word that they themselves can't get through a sentence without using?

What this simply proves is that, after generations of "coaching" by their enablers, blacks have mastered the art of playing the race card. And, when it comes to playing that card, they have a role model sitting in the White House.

"Beware of those who cry racism, for they are the true racists..."

It seems that we are talking about two types of people. There are good people who play by the rules whose skin happens to be dark. And then there are n***ers. I think most people can tell the difference.

What is the teacher supposed to say?

"Class, there are words you are never, ever supposed to say. In fact, I could get in serious trouble if I told you what those words are. You know those forbidden words, but I hope you never say them. Good luck guessing what those words are."

Are we allowed to use the words that accurately describe what's wrong with this mentality?

It is unfortunate that the very cultural policies of the black segment of society have made it more than appropriate to keep the races seperated. Is it likely that the majority of blacks will adopt the attitude of Cosby and Morgan Freeman? (Both of which have denounced the N***er term used by blacks)Or is it more likely the "thug life" culture will dominate? As a white, you have few if any options in dealing with the predominate black media culture, so the solution must be to avoid them if at all possible. I think I hear MLK rolling in his grave.

Use the Name:

Well said.

It's sad that we can't say the dreaded N-word even when trying to teach students why they shouldn't use it.

This sounds like the 'Knights who say nee' scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Unfortunately it isn't as funny.
