It was probably an accurate judgment of most of them. The crime-rate is sky-high in such areas
"A teacher was suspended after parents complained that she allegedly described her students as 'future criminals' on her Facebook page. The first-grade teacher, who is in charge of six and seven-year-olds and who has not been named, wrote about feeling like 'a warden.'
She was suspended with pay after several parents, having seen the posts on Wednesday, turned up at School 21 in Paterson, New Jersey, and demanded their children be taken out of her class, according to board president Theodore Best.
Mr Best said: 'You can't simply fire someone for what they have on a Facebook page. But if that spills over and affects the classroom then you can take action. 'The reason why she was suspended was because the incident created serious problems at the school that impeded the functioning of the building.
The school is in a neighbourhood plagued with poverty, crime and single-parent households.

The teacher was probably right in her opinion, but very foolish to publicize it to the world on Facebook.
It would seem that Facebook inspires people to make idiotic statements that they would not utter in public. Several Autralian soldiers are facing severe disciplinary actions and probably dishonourable discharge for derogatory comments about Afghani's. To believe that you have any anonimity or privacy on Facebook is the ultimate stupidity. The more idiotic the statement the more chance it will go viral.

I grew up in Paterson, NJ in the 1950's.
It wasn't bad then. You could actually walk through down-town, during the day that is, without fear of being mugged, stabbed or shot.
I went back a few years ago at high-Noon and was scared shitless. I got out of Dodge pronto!
The teacher should be commended for her realistic facebook scribing!
Sodom & Gomorrah was a paradise compared to 21st Century Paterson, NJ.
Lou Costello weeps!
Maybe its becuase their parents are probibly tea party members who oppse BIG BROTHER
I have a friend who runs a community outreach program out of his home. He brings in kids that have decent home life and give then a place to hang out, do homework, learn new skills, read (some can’t read). He gives them probably the only hot meal they would get all day.
And how do they thank him? Some have stolen form him. Tow kids sole the neighbors brand new BMW and crashed it into a brick wall causing $10,000 in damage. If I send him supplies I have to be sure it’s not left on the porch and that it is signed for because several packages have been stolen off his porch.
Now, not all the kids are like this but it appears to be more the norm for them to hang out with the criminal element than do the hard work and stay away.
A friend who is a teacher says she deals with this all the time too. She works for a local school (won’t say which, but was founded by a famous maker of chocolate) the kids are excepted based on need so most pay nothing for their schooling, plus they are housed on the campus, given cloths, food, shelter, supplies, everything the average parent pays for and STILL they are almost uncontrollable. And if you DARE try to discipline them they scream racism. So you see kids lean early how to play the liberal game.
Even after all we taxpayers pay for they still grow up to be a bunch of criminals. I believe in calling a spade a spade. Take the bad kids out and let the ones who want to learn, learn in peace.
Yah - and they say gays wouldn't make good parents. How ironic!
