Maine Fines Group for ‘Inflammatory Anti-Muslim Message’
The Christian Action Network runs afoul of bureaucratic political correctness:
"An organization in the national spotlight recently for producing a documentary identifying several dozen potential terrorist training compounds in the U.S. has offended the sensibilities of Maine bureaucrats, who have fined the organization $4,000, alleging among other things that the group sent out mailings containing an “inflammatory anti-Muslim message.”
The group in question, the Christian Action Network (CAN), received notice of the fines and the fundraising ban in a May 6 letter from Elaine Thibodeau of the State of Maine’s Department of Professional and Financial Regulation. Enclosed in the letter was a prepared consent agreement for CAN to sign agreeing to all of the state’s allegations, waiving all rights to appeal, and agreeing to pay the $4,000 fine. As part of the consent agreement, CAN is required to agree to all of the state’s allegations, including their assertion that their mailing amounted to hate speech.
“These bogus charges and fines the State of Maine has imposed are nothing but an attempt to stifle our free speech and silence our organization from speaking out about the steady creep of radical Islam in America,” CAN president Martin Mawyer told Pajamas Media. “We fully intend to appeal the state’s penalties because if they successfully silence us here, we will quickly find that we won’t be able to speak out anywhere.”
But what has Maine bureaucrats roiling is a fundraising mailing sent by CAN (a copy of which was provided to Pajamas Media) regarding a public school curriculum used in California requiring students to pray to Allah, dress up as Muslims, adopt Muslim names, and learn the five pillars of Islam. Since Christians and Jews are not given similar accommodations, CAN encouraged their supporters to send a petition to Maine Gov. John Baldacci asking him to prevent such instruction in Maine public schools...

This is not all that surprising coming from the Peoples Republic of Main. Something tells me these fascists will "see the light", and quickly change their position once CAN's lawyers show up with hugh bags to carry away the money they'll get from a lawsuite.
Spider, you are confusing a Christian organization with the ACLU. Of course this being a case where such big bags of money can be carried away I expect the ACLU to join suit since they have little trouble with actions that will enrich themselves.

No confusion Anon. The aclu is not needed in this case since CAN has their own lawyers, unless the aclu wants to defend Maine, which wouldn't surprise me. As for the aclu's riches, they don't get paid for their services to leftist causes. They operate on private donations, "and your tax money"!

You're right about creeping Marxism Anon, except that it's not creeping, but running at a full gallop. As for Obummer recinding the constitution, well, that's already happening. Remember, the SCOTUS can not interfere with the actions of the govt., no matter how clearly unconstitutional they may be, until the matter is brought beofre them. But the congress can, which means we're in BIG trouble!
The sad part is that, all the fuzzy-brained, Kool-Aid gulping, morons on the Left actually believe Obummer's actions are taking us to their imaginary Nirvana. Just wait until they find out that it's only hell.

I don't listen to Rush, so I don't know what he's saying. All that's necessary to see Obama's attitude towards the Constitution is to watch his actions. After all, actions speak louder than words.

He won't have to. Once Islam becomes prevalent enough, specifically among government leaders, it'll be short order before Sharia law trumps Constitutional law. This is inevitable, and will likely happen in our lifetimes.
And it is a FACT that once Islam claims a country, it is considered (in their eyes) as FOREVER being an Islamic country, regardless of who actually controls it. This is NOT speculation, but FACT--look it up.

Exactly how has Obama gone against the Constitution. Be specific and provide a link if you can. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I see a lot of unverifiable rhetoric posted on these types of sites and I'd be curious what evidence you have.

I'll start with this:
"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President;"
U. S. Constitution, Article II, Section 1
Obama has released his Hawaiian "Certification of Live Birth" which he claims proves he was born in Hawaii. However, Hawaii has a distinction between a "Certification of Live Birth" and a "Certificate of Live Birth". The crucial distinction is that at that time, Hawaii would give Certifications to people born in a foreign country, but Certificates were only available to those born in Hawaii. Therefore, the Certification does not prove that Obama is qualified.
If Obama had mistakenly released the wrong form, then released the correct one, this would have all blown over by now. But instead of clearing things up by allowing the Hawaiian government to release his full birth Certificate (the head of the department of records says they have it on file), he has hired several law firms to fight the release of this form and every legal document and school record from his formative years, tooth and nail.
Even if he does qualify under the Constitution to hold office, that is far from respecting both the letter and the spirit of the Constitution.
There are also open questions about whether or not he travelled under a foreign passport from a country where dual citizenship (U.S. + whatever the country was) is not possible.

There is much more, too. For instance, most of the power grabs he is pushing, such as Universal Health Care, are not permitted by the Constitution.
President Bush also should have been impeached for his Constitutional violations. Obama is just going wayyy beyond what Bush did.

The Constitution forbids States from meddling in contracts. Nor does it give such power to the Federal government, meaning that no government is permitted to "change the rules" after the fact.

Yet this is exactly what Obama did when Chrysler when into bankruptcy. Those holding secured loans to Chrysler where told that the contracts and bankruptcy laws were being thrown out. (In a secured investment, the investor accepts a low rate of return in return for getting paid first in the event of a bankruptcy, exactly what retirees and other risk adverse investors need.) Instead of getting all their money back as the law demands, they were given back only a fraction of their investments. Imagine what it would do to your finances if your bank savings account was suddenly cut in half, or worse!
(Apparently Obama did the same to GM bond holders.)
Ironically, I am currently seeing an ad on the page with the article, for a company named Keystone Debt Solutions. At the top it says "Pay Off Your Debt Responsibly", something which the Obama administration actively prevented Chrysler from doing.
