VA: Gun rights advocates say Coliseum staff challenged free speech rights

We read:
"The Virginia Citizens Defense League is used to fighting for the right to carry guns. But now it’s having to defend the right to wear stickers about carrying guns. The group says officials at the Richmond Coliseum recently attempted to stop members from handing out blaze-orange ‘Guns Save Lives’ stickers before an appearance by radio and television talk-show host Glenn Beck. ‘It’s bad enough they’re trying to trample the Second Amendment. Then you come and attack the First,’ President Philip Van Cleave said, referring to the U.S. Constitution’s guarantees of the right to bear arms and to free speech.”

It's an enormous battle for Americans to retain their constitutional rights in the face of ceaseless Leftist atttacks on those rights.

One of the things that has made the Left so successful at spreading their vile agenda is their tenacious persistence. No matter how bizarre or unpopular their cause, (ie: not just gun control, but the elimination of all guns) they never stop trying! And only that same degree (at least the same) of tenacious persistence will stop them from totally destroying this country and it's culture.

Or, the American people can simply continuing doing what they've been doing, which is to sit back in their mass stupor, watch TV, believe everything the MSM tells them, and be far more concerned with the death of a child molesting little freak than they are in the future of their own country.

"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force."

Here's the theory of gun control from the land of the Leprechauns:

OK, the URL didn't work for the above so here's the full story from the Emerald Isle (Pay special attention to the last paragraph):

[Minister for Justice] Ahern said he was determined to stamp out a practice known as “practical shooting”. His department had monitored with concern “competitions in which people shoot their way through multi-stage target courses based on real life combat scenarios, such as a home invasion or a hostage rescue”.

He said: “This activity is one that seeks to glorify and normalise attitudes to high-powered handguns and promote their use and ownership,” he said. Mr Ahern said “practical shooting” was a “highly undesirable” recent development in Irish shooting sports.

And here is why “practical shooting” is not practical:

“It’s simply not in the public interest to tolerate the development of a subculture predicated on a shooting activity which by the liberal standards of the US is regarded as an extreme shooting activity.”

He said any cursory research on the internet showed that these activities were marketed as being at the “extreme end” of handgun ownership and were “anathema to the tradition of Irish sporting clubs”.

Ah. Cursory research on the internet shows that practical shooting is extreme. Might he be a bit selective when conducting research? Perhaps taking folks like the Brady bunch as the experts with the final word?

“Rural Ireland isn’t like rural America of the George Bush Republicans, with a chicken in every pot and a gun under every pillow. We have no such tendencies in this country,” he said.

Interesting last quote in view of all the social unrest in 19th and 20th centuries Ireland - not least re the IRA!

Is the Richmond Coliseum public or private? That would make a big difference on first amendment matters.

It is perhaps a pity that Britain and France had a treaty to uphold Poland's territorial rights so that they were obliged to declare war on Germany when it invaded Poland. Otherwise if Britain and France and the rest of the world stood by and watched the Nazis and Soviets destroy each other, the world might have been spared a World War and a long Cold War, etc. But probably something just as bad would have arisen as Japan was also in the mix.

Maybe the time to start attacking the Leftists who attack our rights is drawing nigh...
