Some comments from Daphna Ziman, wife of Richard Ziman, former CEO of the major firm, Arden Realty. The Zimans are Jews and generous donors to many worthy causes.
"I have to tell you of an experience I had last night that was so anti Semitic and frightening: Last night I was honored by Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, for my work with Children Uniting nations with African American children who are living out of home care. I have dedicated my life to saving these children from abuse, neglect and a life of crime. We created `adoption day' and "Day of the child" determined to recruit caring adults to be mentors and life savers for our at risk children in the inner cities.....
After I spoke and thanked the fraternity and their members, Rev. Eric Lee, pres. and CEO of Southern Christian Leadership Conference of greater Los Angeles, was introduced as the key note speaker. He began his speech by thanking Jesus for Obama, who is going to be the leader of the world. He continued by referring to other leaders Like Dr. King, being that this was the moment of celebrating Dr. King's spirit on the anniversary of his assassination, and Malcolm X.
It was right after the mention of Malcolm X that he looked right at me and started talking about the African American children who are suffering because of the JEWS that have featured them as rapists and murderers. He spoke of a Jewish Rabbi, and then corrected himself to say "What other kind of Rabbis are there, but JEWS". He told how this Rabbi came to him to say that he would like to bring the AA community and the Jewish community together. " NO, NO, NO,!!!!" he shouted into the crowd, we are not going to come together. "The Jews have made money on us in the music business and we are the entertainers, and they are economically enslaving us"
He continued as to how now the salvation has come and the gates have open for African Americans to come together behind Barack Obama, because now is the time to show them.(meaning the Jews). He continued to speak about ` White supremacy' vs the talents and visionaries in the core of African Americans. He demeaned being given freedom, by saying "To what?" to a country that kills women and children.

Any recourse against the black bigot? Not that I have heard of -- and the above happened a couple of weeks ago. He eventually had a general rejection of antisemitism squeezed out of him but only after he had reiterated some of his baseless accusations against Jews.
And note that the SCLC is Martin Luther King's old organization so this guy is a prominent member of the black community -- and seems destined to remain so.
More background here -- including testimony from others about the accuracy of Mrs. Ziman's account.

There are many who whould suggest that his accusations against jews are not all baseless. There are those who believe jews have been using and manipulating blacks for decades, and using govt. funded hand-outs to keep blacks chained to the Democrat party and most of the causes of the left!
Now, with the possibility of seeing Mr. Obama in the White House, some activist blacks are letting jews (and everyone else) know just who will be "in charge". And in spite of their usual leftist/socialist ideology, (they created the welfare state) jews are not at all comfortable with that notion.
A black guy and a Jew arrive at the pearly gates at the same time.
Is this supposed to show your lack of a sense of humor? Or to show your ignorance?
So far the only account of this event is from Daphna Ziman herself. Other people at the event cannot recall the speaker saying any such thing.
Her email is the only source of this story. Others have denied her version of the event happened. I begin to wonder when in a room full of people, only one person hears something so hateful as Rev Lee supposedly said.
It is also humoprous to me that you demand that Obama get a tougher skin (he wasn't even there) and yet Daphna Ziman says she was crying and had to leave the stage.
We have seen false accusations of racism made by those with an agenda before. This may be one of those cases.
gitarcarver,
Did you miss the last paragraph of the post with its link to others who have backed up her complaint?
Did you miss the last paragraph of the post with its link to others who have backed up her complaint?
Nope.
Sorry, but 2 unnamed "witnesses" don't hack it when named witnesses said it never happened. In fact, the linked article at the bottom of this one doesn't support the claim of what was said. The linked article in From the Exile has a reference to "The God Blog" blog which does not support the account given in the From the Exile.
What is more plausable..... a speech where someone misheard something that no other named person heard? Or a speech that was so full of hatred and vileness that no one heard the same thing this one person claims to have heard?
Is it really plausable that in this entire room of people, a man makes a speech that is as hateful as the woman claims and NO ONE but her remembers it? That NO ONE says "hey wait a sec... what did he just say?"
Sorry, I am not buying this at all.
"Is this supposed to show your lack of a sense of humor? Or to show your ignorance?"
Well, gitarcarver...
Guess I struck a nerve, huh? Oh, and by the way, if you have a problem with my intelligence or sense of humor, it's your problem, not mine. I will however appologize for stepping on your sensitive, little feelings. Senator Obama would no doubt characterize your remarks as angry and bitter. Do you cling to religion and guns in times of trouble?
Do you actually have the temerity to suggest that Senator Obama's campaign has not whined about racism at every available opportunity during this campaign? They actually had the collosal gall to demand that John McCain apologize for remarks made not by him, but by Cincinnati radio host Bill Cunningham for calling their candidate "Barack Heussein Obama" [his real name]. McCain lacked the gumption to tell the Obama campaign to go pound sand.
Senator Obama has largely been given a pass by the media, particularly as it concerns his relationship with that tin-horn, penny ante, race-baiter, Jeremiah Wright and others of his ilk. Senator Obama has repeatedly called such questions regarding Reverend Wright as "distractions." The threat to his candidacy comes not from Senators Clinton or McCain but from his own character and cultrural attitudes as well as associating himself with such unapologetic racists.
I hate to say it, but white people should not get involved in African-American causes, we're simply not welcomed and it's pointless to go where you're not wanted.
Is that Mr. Ziman pictured next to Mrs. Ziman? If it is, someone needs to tell her he's black!
Guess I struck a nerve, huh?
Nope. Not at all. All you did was demonstrate your ignorance.
Oh, and by the way, if you have a problem with my intelligence or sense of humor, it's your problem, not mine.
Most ignorant people would say the same thing.
I will however appologize for stepping on your sensitive, little feelings.
No need to apologize to me. You need to apologize to the human race.
Senator Obama would no doubt characterize your remarks as angry and bitter.
Frankly, as I am not the one telling off color and racist "jokes," (and that term is used very loosely) I doubt that Obama would focus on me and point to you as a source of the problem.
So would Hillary.
So would McCain.
So would most rational, intelligent, compassionate, and non-racist people.
Do you cling to religion and guns in times of trouble?
You're the one telling the off color jokes and epitomizing bitterness. If you don't have a religion, may I suggest that you get one - fast.
Do you actually have the temerity to suggest that Senator Obama's campaign has not whined about racism at every available opportunity during this campaign?
This is known as the "he did it first!" or the "stop touching me!" defense. Most people stop trying to use it when they are 8 or 9 years old, but I guess there are exceptions to the rule.
The threat to his candidacy comes not from Senators Clinton or McCain but from his own character and cultrural attitudes as well as associating himself with such unapologetic racists.
So you're an Obama supporter then?
Gitarcarver...
If you think that my "off-color" joke epitomizes racism, anger and bitterness, then you have obviously led an extremely sheltered life. As far as the "he did it first" or the "stop touching me defense" goes, it would appear that you doth protest overmuch as that is precisely what you are doing when you accuse me of racism.
As to my ignorance, I am more intelligent than some, less intelligent than others; but will match my IQ, net worth, personal and professional accomplishments with your own any day of the week and twice on Sunday for money, marbles or chalk. If you'd care to make a small wager and E-Mail it to me at tgrtfinancial @aim.com we'll meet on the field of intellectual battle. If you best me in cerebral combat, fair and square, I shall bow to your superior intellect. Otherwise, I shall consider you simply another pusillanimous whelp.
Oh...
And as far as me being a supporter of Senator Obama, he'd make as good a president as either Sernators McCain or Clinton.
If you think that my "off-color" joke epitomizes racism, anger and bitterness, then you have obviously led an extremely sheltered life.
Nice try at shifting the goalposts. It has nothing to do with the life I have led, but rather your attitude and personna. If you are happy with telling off color and racist "jokes," that's fine. It says more about you then I ever could.
As far as the "he did it first" or the "stop touching me defense" goes, it would appear that you doth protest overmuch as that is precisely what you are doing when you accuse me of racism.
Let's recap, shall we?
You tell a racist joke. I note that the joke is racist and ignorant.
Now you want to say that your actions somehow reflect on me?
As to my ignorance, I am more intelligent than some, less intelligent than others;
Ignorance has very little to do with intelligence. I am sure that you know that, but once again you are trying to shift the goalposts.
If you best me in cerebral combat, fair and square, I shall bow to your superior intellect.
Clearly you haven't understood what has been happening in this thread.
Otherwise, I shall consider you simply another pusillanimous whelp.
Thank you for your thoughts. I shall give them all the consideration they are due.
Relax Annie, as you can plainly see, gitarcarver is our in-house as*hole and obviously relishes the role. And i must say, quite good at it!
