Must not mention normal families
Beatrice Hurtig was heating baby food at Ikea’s restaurant in Örebro in central Sweden when she saw a sign that agitated her, Expressen reports.
“More room between tables for you and your mum and dad in the family corner,” the sign promised.
Hurtig said she got a knot in her stomach and immediately took a snap of the sign. She sent the photo to Ikea via Facebook and asked them to take the sign down.
“Children are the ones supposed to read this notice. Imagine a child who lives with their grandmother, or has a parent who’s out of the picture, or has parents who simply don’t think they belong in traditional gender categories,” Hurtig told Expressen.
“It’s wrong on so many levels. Ikea is a good place for an excursion and it should be good for everybody.”
Ikea duly took the sign down. A spokesman said the company agreed it had not been well worded.
“We at Ikea respect all people and want everybody to feel welcome,” Per Henning told Expressen.

"The horror, the horror." Another self appointed offense warrior (read whiner) heard from. Yes any mention of the traditional family structure is akin to "whites only" drinking fountains and "colored to the back of the bus" regulations. Imagine the mental anguish when little Jane sees Dick out at the restaurant with his Mom and Dad. Run Jane. Run.
Amen 1:07 AM.
Oh the irony of people like Bird of Paradise complaining about the speech of others and wanting them to shut up.
"Free speech for me and not for thee" is the cry of a modern liberal like Bird of Paradise.
What is glaring about this is that children of non traditional family structures are acutely aware of their state and "inclusion" on a sign about eating accommodations is close to worthless. The bottom line is attitude. I grew up with a friend who was being raised by their aunt and they thrived because they took it as a point of pride that their aunt wanted to raise them and being different was an advantage. Everyone is different and it is how we utilize that diversity that is the true measure of us.

Surely it's fascist or Orwellian to think all people should and ought to live in the same kind of social or familial structure. (Was going to say "homogenous" but the dyslexic bird-brains we have always commenting here would probably think it meant some kind of homosexual lifestyle!!)
Sure, I can see that children could feel hurt by parents who are too selfish to love and care for their children, especially if those "parents" insist on depriving a child of a parent. But I also have to wonder if complaints like this are driven more by the guilt felt by such narcissistic "adults" trying to avoid reminders of their refusal to meet their responsibilities to their own children.
Q. Whats the differnce between a liberal and a puppy? A. The puppy quits whining when it grows up
Of course Mother's Day and Father's Day must be banned. Not every child has a mother or a father in their life. Besides it's not inclusive enough. My mother, who is really my father identifying as a woman, doesn't like the candy I buy him/her for Mother's Day, preferring power tools instead. Dear PC Answer Person, what, oh what shall I do?
Soon the only clelebrations allowed will be EARTHDAY and communists celebrations and Kwanzaa(Which real africans never heard of)and the birthday of Lenin,Mao and Marx

I did not expect to see Expressio Unius being applied to Ikea signs!
You learn something new everyday.
Normal people stay away from Washington D.C. too many freakos
What makes the whole issue a joke is that I find her comments offensive but nobody will give a shit and I will be told to get over it as she should he been. That women has serious emotional issues and perhaps is a danger to society but that will go unaddressed.
