MLK quote not "inclusive" enough
Since 1986, the University of Oregon has housed a quote by Martin Luther King Jr. in the lobby of the Erb Memorial Union. “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream…”
However, this hasn’t always been the quote that filled the entrance of the EMU and there was talk of the quote changing again. The quote is not going to change, but that decision was not made without some hard thought by the Student Union Board.
Laurie Woodward, the Director of the Student Union said that when she approached the union with the question of if they wanted to keep the current MLK quote or supplement a new one, one of the students asked, “Does the MLK quote represent us today?”
“Diversity is so much more than race. Obviously race still plays a big role. But there are people who identify differently in gender and all sorts of things like that,” sophomore architecture major, Mia Ashley said.

I'm continually amazed how these people can claim to revere MLK while actively working to force everyone to believe the exact opposite of MLK's dream of a color-blind society.

You know that cognitive dissonance is one of the hall marks of the left so this really shouldn't come as a surprise. One of these days though someone on the left will wake up to the fact that MLK was a Republican and then nothing he said or did will be good enough for them to forgive him that fact.
I know a little girl, four years old, being brought up as a boy. Yes, four years old. She has a boy's name, is dressed in boy's clothes, given boy's toys, is referred to as he, him, his, and is introduced to everyone else as a boy. It is not as uncommon as the general population thinks. In fact, it is quite a trend amongst certain types of leftist parents. I get to meet lots of unfortunate people.
Even when you do as MLK wished and judge not by race (gender orientation, sexual preference, voting habits etc.)but by character you have protests like Black Lives Matter who refuse to consider character in the actions of black people who run afoul of the law. Similar applies to the LGBTI+ community who see discrimination when no one hires one of their brethren despite the fact that they are not the best candidate for the job. We are now entering another diversity phase which will weaken the workforce because the best candidate did not get the job. A similar approach is being pushed in the political arena.
