'Sexist' signs go at British store, as pink and blue is replaced by toy categories instead

We read:
"Pink is for girls and blue is for boys - unless you are shopping at Hamleys that is. After being accused of sexist stereotyping by feminists, the world famous London store is now organising toys by category instead of gender.

Pink and blue signs from the floors selling ‘girls’ and ‘boys’ toys have been removed from the flagship Regent Street store and replaced with gender neutral red and white ones.

Toys are now categorised by type, such as ‘arts and crafts’, ‘dress-up’ and ‘dolls’, without specifying whether they are for boys or girls.

Laura Nelson, 34, a political blogger from Ealing, in West London, yesterday described the move as a ‘victory’ after having previously accused the store of ‘gender apartheid’.

Yet the brands they now display on each floor are still segregated by stereotypical gender. And you see, that's the problem with Political Correctness. You end up with the same results, but you just don't come out and say it.

The fact is that it's a helluva lot easier to change a couple signs than it is to shift two entire floors of merchandise to make things more gender neutral.

This is just another example of the pussification of our culture. How about just letting boys be boys, and girls be girls? When they become adults, let them make whatever decisions they want, but until they are able to make responsible decisions, just let them be the children they are so they can enjoy being children?

Agreed Sig

My wife teaches pre-school age children and by that time, little boys already want to play soldier, guns, swords, and cars, and little girls want dolls and dress-up.

Changing a few signs isn't going to change the fact the boys are wired from birth to be aggressive and women are wired to be care-takers.

Geez Sig, don't you realise the damage you are doing with that post? PC liberals are going to read it and their brains will explode as they encounter a sensible viewpoint.

I wish I owned a business so I could tell these wanks to eff-off and take their business elsewhere. Of course, in the UK you would probably end up in prison for a hate crime.

You're right Stan, but leftist indoctrination will make/is making those changes. Allowing a relative handful of leftists to change the way hundreds-of-millions of people live and think, both in the UK and the US, doesn't tell you much about the leftists, but it does tell you about the weak, gullible, sheep who populate those countries.

Dean, I can only hope!

Stan B has clearly never met any females that were raised to be able to take care of themselves. My evil minions (four of them) can shoot, ride, fight dirty, build stuff, fix things, cook, keep house AND be the prettiest girls at the dance. And I have no fears about them in the real world. The only boy friend that ever got aggressive with one of them had to be hospitalized after she almost gouged his eyes out.

Try not raising girls or boys, try raising useful people. You'll sleep better at night knowing they can take care of themselves.

God designed males and females to fulfill specific roles. Obviously, not all females are good at fulfilling their roles, and obviously, not all males are good at fulfilling their roles. But those who strive to fulfill their roles, despite their shortcomings, are more honoring to God than those who do not. My wife and I prefer to honor God.

More of this PC nonsense at its most rediculous

Anon 4:47 AM, no, I am a God-loving Christian American who believes that our one of our great purposes on Earth is to discover who God is, honor Him, and give Him glory. Discovering one's roles and striving to follow them is not only noble, but God-honoring. It's just that most men and women don't want to follow the roles that God planned because of selfishness. Try taking the focus off of yourself and put that focus on God and others.

@9:22 just got off they train at Crazytown.

9:22 You put the focus on yourself by proclaiming to all here that you think that you know anything about the mind and wishes of "God", which is a very arrogant presumption in itself.
