More local petty dictators who think that they can over-ride the constitution

We read:
"A South Carolina man says his constitutional rights have been violated after he was told by his local government to remove the Bible-themed signs he had posted on his property.

Oscar Moultrie says a Berkeley County, S.C., ordinance that requires residents to obtain government permission before putting up signs on their private property -- other than "for sale," "for rent," political signs, and a few other exceptions -- violates his First Amendment right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

Moultrie says he received no complaints about his signs before the county ordered him in March to remove them or pay $25 to get a permit to post them.

In his lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Charleston, S.C., he is asking the court to issue an immediate injunction that bars enforcement of the ordinance and declares it unconstitutional.

This is simply a sign of how truly desperate local governments are for money. They will try any-and-all means to generate revenue. And it's not just the small backwater towns like this. NYC and it's Fascist mayor do this kind of thing every day. They work on the assumption that the majority of people can't afford to take them to court, and of course they're right. It's the way the system was designed.

There is of course a fool-proof solution to all this. In fact, it's widely done in Europe and is "very" effective. It's called a General Strike, where the population refuses to pay ANY taxes. Can the government arrest the entire country? Of course not, so they must (and do) back down. This also works very well on monopolies such as masive public utilities. (gas, elect, etc.) You can last a lot longer without power than they can without revenue.

Of course, these things won't happen in countries like the US because the people are far too weak and divided, a fact the government is very well aware of.

In America the employer takes out the taxes before you even see the money so it is hard to stop paying your taxes. What we need to do is vote their sorry ass's out of office and then make sure they dont pop up somewhere else in the government. When we vote them out we should insist they get out and never come back. Stormewaters
