The Word "Kitchen" Is Also Racist

Romney mentioned a "kitchen cabinet" in his speech. Kitchen cabinet is a 120 year old reference to a group of close, but not necessarily formal, advisers to the president. I.e., the president has some very important advisers or Wise Men who don't hold any formal position in his administration. The actual cabinet was originally conceived (IIRC) as just that circle of Wise Men; but in fact cabinet positions were given out for other reasons, including political one, so it hasn't served that function. The "Kitchen Cabinet" does. It's the group of advisers the President actually trusts.

Anyway, this age-old term is now racist, because, you know, blacks and kitchens. Wink wink.

I really didn't get this at first. But now I think: "Ah, slaves used to work in the kitchen." They also used to work in offices, so is it racist to say the Office of the Presidency?

I expect so, in time. In time, we'll find out everything is racist. Including the words "and" and "the," as they say.

Breathing is racist if you are white and the Congressional Black klan have their way. If anyone is racist it is the Dem black members of Congress. The only way they can keep being elected is by continually invoking the sympathy vote. They fail to realise that they are white Dem pawns.

If Romney still doesn't understand what he's really up against, he should quit now. Personally, i don't think he's up to the kind of political hand-to-hand combat he's already involved in. If he, like most Republicans, thinks taking the high road in this battle will bring victory, he's already lost.

Now you know why so many of us on the Right were looking toward a warrior like Gingrich. He was the only one who not only understood that this was going to be "the most" vicious and fraudulent election in our histroy, but the only one totally capable of fighting it.

BTW, just when does the Congressional White Caucus meet?

"Beware of those who cry racism, for they are the true racists..."

Wasn't it Margaret Thatcher who liked to employ the term "kitchen cabinet" for her ministerial cabinet, as it suggested a housewifely context, and she liked to immodestly regard herself as a prudent housewife"? She certainly didn't mean to demean women (or black slaves), quite the opposite!

That's racists! We know who they are. wink, wink!

@Anon 3:35 AM, I believe the proper name is "Framers of the Constitution" because "Founding Fathers" is clearly sexist. :-)

I'd rather live in a town full of alleged 'racists' than a town with no admitted racists but a homicide rate 600 pct higher.

I just assumed if people were going to find it offensive it would be because it was SEXIST, not racist, because - you know - women tend to spend more time in the kitchen than men...

Really? Then why is it the overwheling majority of the worlds greatest chefs are men?

Don't believe everything you read, only half of what you see, and none of what you hear...

The Fathers (or Framers) of the US Constitution also had slaves working in their kitchens!

Stop worshipping the "Founding Fathers" like they were demi-gods. That's how religions start!

Go Away Bird, if I send you $100, will you go and take some spelling lessons? Clearly you are the result of home schooling.

Go Away Bird is quite shameless in his "original" spelling. He's been criticized before but takes no heed. Perhaps he's not so good at reading either.
