The latest censorship proposal reeks of desperation

We read:
"Bill Clinton -- the examplar of truth in modern America -- has proposed the establishment of a government 'ministry of truth' -- to be run by either the United States government or the United Nations -- that would supervise the content of the Internet, requiring individuals and websites to conform to agency factual standards. ...

Apart from the obvious 1st Amendment/fascist/1984 Orwellian/marketplace of ideas implications of such an offering -- a discussion which, I trust, needs no explication on this website -- I am partially encouraged by Clinton’s suggestion.

It demonstrates just how desperately and feverishly the political Establishment must go in futilely trying to resist its own demise."

I - well, along with many others - long ago predicted that "licensing journalism" would be tried, but only after govt realized that that suppression of unfriendly speech was too logistically difficult an approach. This is the beginning of that attempt.

It will not be stopped by govts but by technology, so watch out for the remote-ctl s/w on your devices, kinda like Apple already does, wherein *they* control what you can do with them, instead of you. Go open-source when you can.

Bubba is starting to sound (and look) like peanut-brain Carter. He should stick to his bimbos. BTW, when was the last time you saw him and Hitlary together? Hmm...

Clintons suggestion is not aimed at the MSM. It's aimed at the internet. They (the left) already control the MSM, it's the internet they're after. One reason is to get the ability to control what their enemies say. The other reason is the internets potential to generate revenue. But, as is always the case with the left, priority #1 is, CONTROL!

But can you think of what an awesome job it would be to work for the UNITA - UN Internet Truth Agency...???
You'd spend your whole day looking at internet porn to see if the 'models' were portrayed accurately and truthfully.
I can imagine going home to the wife, 'How was your day honey?'. 'Man, I sure am beat from all the internet porn I've been looking at for work!'. 'Oh, you poor baby, sit down and put your feet up for a bit'.

This is a perfect example of how lefties see themselves as upholders of the truth and Jihadists (Crusaders) for righteousness while being completely blind to the simple fact that the programs they propose are mere facades of truth and righteousness over a morass of pure evil.
