It seems in rather poor taste to me but a firing offence? It just shows how Fascist American universities and colleges have become now that they are almost wholly Left-run.
"Four students who posed for photos with a human placenta have been kicked out of a suburban Kansas City nursing program after one of the pictures was posted on Facebook.
One of the students, Doyle Byrnes, has filed a complaint in U.S. District Court in Kansas seeking to force Johnson County Community College to reinstate her before classes resume Jan. 19.
The Kansas City Star reported that Byrnes and several other students were attending a lab course at Olathe Medical Center in November when one of them asked a nursing instructor for permission to photograph the placenta so they could share the experience on Facebook.
Byrnes and the other three students who posed with the placenta were expelled the next day. The lawsuit didn't fully identify the other students.
Jeanne Walsh, director of nursing at the college, criticized Byrnes in a letter that was included as an exhibit with the complaint: "Your demeanor and lack of professional behavior surrounding this event was considered a disruption to the learning environment," the letter said. [How?]

The taking of photos to place on Facebook does indicate the possibility of these students lacking the kind of discretion that would leave them compromising a patient's privacy in the future.
I think a proper judgment though would have to include seeing the photographs to see if the students were showing off their craft in a respectable fashion or hamming it up with a piece of flesh in a juvenile display.
The school's reaction lends credence to the latter interpretation but it's still possible the girls were respectful.

Wait just a minute. The article doesn't specifically state that the nursing instructor from whom they asked permission actually gave them permission, but if the instructor did give them permission, then the students acted accordingly, and the instructor should be reprimanded if his permission violated school policy. If the instructor denied the students permission, then the students should be held accountable for their actions if they went against the instructor.

They should have posed with an aborted clump of cells. Then they would have been feted.

They should have called it "Art." That gets you off the hook most times.
But because it has something to do with female reproduction, it must be offensive. If putting a cross in a jar of urine is “Art,” or throwing fancies at a picture of the virgin Merry is "Art" then why isn't this "Art?"
