Murfreesboro, Tennessee:
"Confederate Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest should have his name removed from MTSU's ROTC building, according to a Student Government Association vote.
The SGA voted 19-5 recently on a resolution to remove the Forrest name after a student, Amber Perkins, presented a petition with 205 names requesting this action, said Josh McKinzie, SGA vice president. The university administration will next consider the resolution.

The naming celebrates the man because he was an able general, not because he was a racist. Practically everybody was a racist then. Forrest was probably no more racist than Abraham Lincoln himself. Lincoln after all wanted to send the blacks back to Africa.
