OH: Student may wear “Jesus is Not A Homophobe” t-shirt to school, says court
We read:
"A gay student who sued his Ohio high school for prohibiting him from wearing a T-shirt designed to urge tolerance of gays will be allowed to wear the shirt to school whenever he chooses. A judgment agreed to by Maverick Couch and the Waynesville Local School District was entered Monday in federal court in Cincinnati. It allows the teenager to wear the 'Jesus Is Not A Homophobe' T-shirt and says the district must pay $20,000 in damages and court costs."

This sets a good precedent. T-shirts quoting the Bible on homosexuality should now be allowed also.

The school ought to ban all t-shirt messages as they will just result in a t-shirt-text "war", which is not appropriate for the purpose a school exists!
I wonder if the same school would allow a student to wear a T-shirt that simply reads, "Leviticus 18:22"
I agree with Anonymous 2:22. Ban all t-shirts with messages, and then get on with the job of teaching. Better still, introduce school uniforms, just as we have in Australia.

@anon 2:55, that's a cop-out and you know it. You might as well say, "We all sin, so it's OK to sin." Freedom of speech and freedom of religion is fundamental in the United States, and the Liberals continually try to strip us of those freedoms in the name of tolerance. Sorry, but if a homosexual has the right to express his views, then a heterosexual has the same right. Stripping those rights to pander to a special interest group is a slap in the face to the Constitution.

What is a "streight man"? Jesus was supposed to be God incarnate, so presumably had no sexual proclivity one way or the other.

I could have sworn that a reading of the statement was a premised "if - then" remark. No one was called "stupid," so it seems there are comprehension issues with you.
However, once again, you have to resort to name calling to make your point.
As for the "negative sounding categories," all of the listed groups are contrary to the moral standards set forth in the Bible. If you disagree with them, that is certainly your choice. To say that moral standards are "bigotry" is unsupportable and ridiculous.
I will say that I am sorry for you as it seems your only argument in this discussion is attacks on people rather than a discussion.

Other people have other ethical standards and your attitude to people who are homosexual indicates your bible-based bigotry (yes, bigotry). Try thinking for yourself instead of the "morality" of middle-east tribes living thousands of years ago. Sorry if you feel that's an "attack" on you.
