Homosexual hate speech
Most of what Dan Savage said is too vile for this blog but you will get the general idea
Savage was apparently invited by the college to address students about his “It Gets Better” campaign. An announcement on the Elmhurst web site promoted the free and public event. While the college is saying that that the talk went off without a hitch, Peter LaBarbera, the founder of the group Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (an organization that works to expose the so-called “radical homosexual agenda”) has a very different view.
LaBarbera has called the discussion crude and inappropriate. On the flip side, Elmhurst spokeswoman Desiree Chen says that it was a success that included ”a great mix of people of all ages.” According to the college, 1,200 people showed up to the event.
Now, here’s where things get interesting. LaBarbera also claims he was unfairly removed from the event after questioning Savage and his past tactics.
According to LaBarbera the “anti-bullying” bigotry was laced with profanity and filthy and distorted accusations about believing Christians. “Savage made wildly inappropriate comments,” he said:
“The Pope. I’m going to digress for a moment about the Pope. The Pope recently said that gay marriage is a threat to the survival of the human race,” he said. “Because once…gay marriage is legal, everyone is going to get gay married. What he‘s saying is that there’s no such thing as a straight person.”
At this point, the audience roared with applause and laughter. Then, he continued with his statements about the Catholic leader’s views on gay marriage

He's a truly disgusting human being. Anyone aiming at homosexual acceptance should see him as a deadly enemy. He's just brimming over with hate

Another example of gay intolerance from those who demand total tolerance from everyone else. It is one of the reasons their cause will never succeed.
I have read a couple articles on the Pope's recent comments re: gay marriage.
I did not find any reputable report of the Pope saying that if gay marriage is made legal 'everyone will get gay married' or words to that effect.
However, this is typical playground argument tactics - invent or distort what someone has said so it can be attacked.
The Pope did say that the issue involved creating an ideal environment for raising children.
Let gays get married. The agony of divorce should be spread to the gay community too!
I am curious. How does gay marriage affect you personally? How does it change YOUR life?
I had no problem with gay "marriage" until a gay couple in MA sued their local Catholic Church because they would not marry them.. The government should get out of the marriage business and offer only civil unions to straight and gay couples and afford them all the same rights.. If you want to then get married you can go to your church or wherever you want and get married.. There are gay churches gay people can get "married" at fi they want..
5:42 Why do you base a general opinion on the basis of an exceptional case? That particular couple, whether gay or straight, had no right to insist that a private local church should conduct any ceremony on their behalf. There is no state church in the US and churches can conduct ceremonies as they wish. But the state must offer equal treatment to all its citizens with civil legal unions in official venues, and then if you want a catholic or a druid wedding as well its up to relevant parties .
Republicans worry about silly-ass stuff.
