"Good sort" is old-fashioned Australian slang for "attractive woman". It is entirely complimentary and in no way derogatory. But the manager of an Australian football team has been penalized for using the expression!
Manly Sea Eagles media manager Peter "Zorba" Peters was stood down last week for telling Sky News journalist Megan Barnard she was "a good sort" not once, but twice, on camera outside the NRL judiciary.
While some have leapt to his defence, calling it political correctness gone mad, others have seen the incident as indicative not only of entrenched negative attitudes towards women in a male-dominated environment, but a sign that for all our focus on educating the community about inappropriate comments, little is getting through.

Oh come on John, you know the entire feminist movement was founded by a bunch of unattractive old hags who felt it is unfair that they get no action beyond unattractive old men! The first thing they did was outlaw compliments!
"Ma'am, your appearance is wholly congruent with your personality."
Don't talk to any female reporters next time.
Funny, had the comments been made by a gay man, and the recipient was a straight man, and he was offended by the comments, the recipient of the comments would have gotten in trouble and called a bigot!
Our Aussi friends had better be careful. They seem to be following their British cousins into the PC'ized nanny-state that Britain has become.
And what would be next mates. Well, if you're going to imitate the Brits, you will allow millions of radical Muslims into your country and let them run your lives.
I think there are already a lot of muslims Down Under with a vote too!
