Must not warn of dangerous places in DC??
Not if they are black neighborhoods, apparently
"Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck is planning a big rally at the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday. But a Tea Party blogger is drawing critics tonight after his "Visitors Guide" to D.C. - warned people to stay out of certain neighborhoods. Neighborhoods it turns out, that also happen to be home to many African Americans.
Conservative blogger Bruce Majors says he was trying to help. "I wrote a little blog telling them where it's safe to go, where it's cheap to eat." But that "little blog" has created a big controversy - with majors now facing accusations of racism. Majors says when it comes to his critics these people are "absolutely insane."
But some D.C. leaders say they have concerns about the tone of Majors blog and the Tea Party itself. D.C. Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton says the blog is telling people to stay away from black neighborhoods. "It's very worrisome," says Norton.
But Bruce Majors say he knows there was no racial message in his blog and stands by what he wrote saying "I think it's a deliberate political ploy by people who are desperate and who don't have any other ammunition."

Apparently you are supposed to offer yourself up as a victim of black crime -- in support of the Leftist delusion that blacks are just the same as whites, only browner.
Leftists need their delusions. Reality freaks them. So you must not do or say anything that tends to undermine one of their delusions or they will burst into rage.

DC has some really rough and dangerous areas especially if you are white. To ignore that is just stupid. The same can be said of parts of Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, and most of Oakland.
Every city has its "High Crime" districts that are best avoided by slack-jawed tourists and people with now legitimate business need to be there.
The fact that Washington, DC is overwhelmingly populated by Melanin Enhanced Americans means that almost any High Crime area is certain to be a Melanin Enhanced area as well.
But that's racist, eh?
A case of the sins of the fathers being visited upon the (nth) generation. The blacks were enslaved in the US until the 1860s and then suffered virtual apartheid until the 1960s, and beyond. The consequences continue even in 2010. It's not the fault of the present generation, but they correspond to that biblical reference.

Except for the fact that the Bible goes on to say that the sins of the father shall not be visited upon the son.
People are responsible for their own actions. Period.
What son? Do you mean Jesus? So we are all conveniently absolved of all problems our forefathers created - cool - but evidently not true.
I read his whole blog post and he never once mentions these neighborhoods as "black neighborhoods". The people complaining are just projecting their own racism where none exists.
I have lived in the DC area since 1976. Most of the crime in DC occurs in African-American neighborhoods. Most of the crime victims are African-Americans. Not an opinion, but a verifiable fact, if one is to look at police reports.
I live outside of Youngstown, ohio and there are many place I will not go...sorry ALL black neighborhoods
Do any of the "offended" critics live in those areas? I doubt it...
If DC is so safe how come most of the whites live in Maryland or Virginia?
"If DC is so safe how come most of the whites live in Maryland or Virginia?"
Because they're racists, isn't it obvious?
Haven't you listened properly to your lessons, provided by the Reverend Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpe?
Stupid is as stupid does.
I invite (unaccompanied by me) those idiotic white Liberal critics to stroll down some streets in certain DC areas.
Back in the 1990's, being an inactive Marine (there is no such animal as a former marine) my family and I were invited to the Friday night parade at the Marine barracks at 8th & I.
We parked in the Navy yard about 5-blockes away. As we were about to walk to the barracks 4 (African-American) marines in Dress Blues approached us and strongly requested they accompany us to the ceremony as the neighborhood wasn't very safe for "non-residents" (wink, wink). We gratefully accepted the offer and my young daughter was thrilled to be in the company of 4 of America's finest.
Semper Fi!

---Either that or they are simply prejudiced against being robbed, killed, raped or beat up. Nah, it's gotta be prejudice, why would anyone mind being a victim of crime?
If a neighborhood is dangerous, then it is perfectly acceptable to regard it as a place to stay away from, regardless of its racial makeup. If the neighborhood doesn't like its bad reputation, then it's up to the neighborhood to clean itself up.
