Leftist logic. A bit too deep for me

Abe Foxman of the ADL has joined the chorus of the many New Yorkers who don't want to see a huge Islamic center right near where the twin towers were destroyed by Islamic fanatics on 9/11/2001. A prominent far-Leftist site however is enraged at Foxy's statement on the matter
"[Foxman] said the position does not align ADL with anti-Islamic critics of the mosque, noting that the organization took out a full-page ad in the Times after 9/11 warning against answering hate with hate. “Just because bigots agree with positions you hold, does that make you a bigot?” Foxman asked

Anyway, the reason this is so awesomely hypocritical is that the ADL, under Foxman, has basically given up any pretense of being a civil rights group and dedicated itself to muzzling criticism of Israel with constant cries of “anti-Semitism!”

So opposing a super-mosque in NYC is "muzzling criticism of Israel"? I sure don't get it. Maybe you have to be a Leftist to get it.

Why didn't they just call him a racist and be done with it? Have they got bored with that accusation? It sure has got boring so I hope so.

Aside from anything else, the idea that anybody can muzzle criticism of Israel is hilarious. I seem to read nothing but an anti-Israel slant in MSM reports about Israel-- and there is no shortage of such reports to read. Just one example of how dire the anti-Israel slant is can be found HERE

Mr. Foxman's statement, which i saw him make, was simply a half-hearted attempt to appease NYC's jews, and especially their donations to the ADL. His statement was quite bland, making sure not to step on any Muslim toes.

As a NY'er who lives only a few short miles from Ground Zero, i found his position amazing, albeit not surprising, especially when you understand that the original ok for the mosque was given by the local Manhattan community board, which is made up mostly of Leftist jews who live in that area. (Manhattan is "the most" liberal area in the country second only (perhaps) to San Francisco) Their decision was endorsed and applauded by NYC mayor (king?) Bloomberg, another leftist jew. I wonder if they would be as welcoming if a Nazi Youth center wanted to open up at this site. Hmm...

Well, even a bland statement against Muslims is better than no statement. I give Foxman credit for coming to his senses. I believe in freedom, but just like freedom doesn't give a pornographer the right to set up an adult shop next to a school, freedom doesn't mean you can build a church wherever the hell you want.

I'm also sick of the Muslims demanding we be sensitive to them when they're not sensitive to us.

So apparently, NYC's leftist jews put more value on "alleged" tolerence than on public saftey? Of course, if someone wanted to build a mosque or church on Manhattan's upper west side, (a hotbed of leftism, socilaism, and communism) those same "tolerent" jews would have the National Guard called out, in full combat gear, and demand the death penalty for anyone proposing such an idea. And they wonder why they've been chased from every country on the planet?

"And they wonder why they've been chased from every country on the planet?"

---They haven't been chased from the USA, and in spite of internet conspiracies, the US founding fathers were friends of the Jews.

As for other nations, they were ruled by monarchs. It was Kings who exploited anti-semitism whenever the peasants started to resent the monarchy, or as I call it.

"If you're poor, blame the Jews."

In fact, I don't know of any free nation that has ever expelled Jews.

By the way, Obama plays the same game but with another minority:

"If you're poor, blame the rich."

Bigotry, it doesn't take a genious.

8/6/10: NY Post;

Opponents of the proposed construction of a controversial mosque just blocks from Ground Zero "ought to be ashamed of themselves" for opposing it, NYC Mayor Bloomberg said this morning.

Bloomberg said he also "doesn't care where the people behind the mosque and Islamic cultural center will get the money to build."

Of course, if the city blows up, he'll take his private jet to his private island, with his private boyfriend.

Just how many blocks away would it it be - exactly?
