Kansas: Preach the Gospel to Muslims – Get Arrested

We read:
"Attempt to address Muslims in Kansas and you’ll be hauled off in handcuffs to the local police department. That’s what happened to Pastor Mark Holick of Spirit One Christian Center when he visited the Wichita Islamic Society to speak about the gospel and to distribute religious tracts.

Pastor Holick and fourteen other Christians, including two additional senior ministers, did not step foot inside the mosque - - but merely attempted to engage Muslims in dialogue on a public sidewalk as they left the building.

When the police arrived on the scene, Mr. Holick was handcuffed and forced into a squad car. When asked what crime he had committed, the police, according to the pastor, said “loitering” and “failure to disperse.”

Mr. Holick told OneNewsNow that it was “very disconcerting to see the gospel squelched — especially on a public sidewalk in a country with a constitutional guarantee of free speech.”

The Pastor has forgotten that his calling is to speak in "Spirit and in truth."

From the cited source we get this quote: The police allege that the pastor and his followers were blocking a driveway.

Mr. Holick denies this charge by saying: “Of course we never did do that. There would be no reason for us to block vehicles — and they probably have no idea how much I like all of my organs and bones perfectly in the position they’re in right now.”

Now, go to this link for a report from news station KWCH in Wichita and look at the picture.

Look where the pastor is standing.

The pastor lied and now has no credibility in his version of this story.

He should have the freedom to engage in peaceful public discourse, but did he really think he could convert muslims outside a muslim meeting place, or was he just trying to be provocative and attract some personal publicity and media attention (his 15 mintues of fame like the pastor in Florida)?

A religious person lying? Say it ain't so. Lying is easy for them seeing as that they spew forth the god delusion all the time. So, give the pastor a break. Lying is part of his job description.

Loitering? Are they going to arrest Muslims who chat with their fellow Muslims after services for a similar amount of time as the pastor stood there on the sidewalk ? Or are the cops singling him out because of the content of his speech?
Did the cops tell him to disperse and did they just not like the fact that he kept talking about Christianity as he dispersed at a reasonable speed so they arrested him and claimed he did not disperse fast enough? It is a large driveway and is possible to walk back and forth easily to avoid hindering vehicles. There was no large crowd. If the cops thought there was a danger, they should have focused on those who seemed most likely to erupt into violence. If I am just making a speech and jack is looking like he is going to hit someone, make Jack disperse not the speaker.

Actually I don't know whether there was a large crowd, but the photo appears to not contain any large crowd.

Anon 1:08, if you think that the photograph shows the "pastor and his followers" "blocking a driveway", you must be mad. You are the one with no credibility. Standing on a wide driveway with one follower does NOT constitute blocking it.

Actually more than anything I think he was just trying to prove a point. When you do something like this you know dang well that you are going to be removed by police, regardless of how peaceful you do it. I see these kinds of things as Christians just trying to push back and bring public attention to what is going on. So yeah Anon 1:10 he probably wanted his 15 mins but a better question is why can they even get their 15 mins of fame assuming they were just proselytizing and not trespassing? What is happening to freedom of speech and religion? However on the flip side if he was blocking traffic then yeah he's an idiot and should have been arrested.

The photo doesn't show him trespassing neither does it show him "blocking" a driveway. OTOH, I think he did this in the hopes he would get the kind of publicity he did indeed get.

Actually it does.

You have to keep moving or else you are considered "blocking." It is why when people protest you see them moving or else they are subject to arrest for loitering and blocking the area.

It appears you, like the pastor, thinks that to be blocking a driveway, you have to be blocking a car trying to gain entry or exit. That is not the case.

Anon 1:16 may have a point about the law. However, the obvious course of action for the police is to go up and tell him what the law requires, and arrest him only if he refuses to comply. Did they do that? I don't know. But the law is supposed to be the servant of the people, not its master, and citizens not obviously behaving badly are at least entitled to a warning.

Mayor Bloomberg is a judenratt, in other words, he sells his own people out to the highest bidder. He has sold the Jewish people out to the arabs and sold the good people of New York out to the muslim horde. He will have to answer to G-D one day.Shalom

Bloomberg is a leftist jew. And as a jew, his only God is money, as is the case with the original owners of the building in question. It was also local leftist jews (community board) who gave the approval for the mosque to be built. Maybe the Arabs are smarter than we give them credit for being.

Yawn. Same ol' same ol'. If it was a Muslim evangelizing outside a church, he would have gotten a pass.

Nothing to see here. move along.
