Toyota Courts Latinos With Free Hispanic Pride Stickers

We read:
"Toyota Motor Corp., hoping to solidify its standing as the top brand for Hispanic buyers in the U.S., is offering drivers a series of stickers that celebrates their Hispanic heritage.

The decals contain the phrase "somos muchos," or "we are many," followed by cultures, regions and popular descriptors from all over Latin America, such as "somos muchos Mexicanos" and "somos muchos Hondurenos." The decals, designed to be stuck on bumpers or windows, come in more than 100 different versions and are available in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

If it had been American pride or white pride, it would be offensive

Well, I can understand where Toyota is coming from. In the past I worked for a Hispanic advertising agency and every year we had to do some crap for Hispanic heritage month. It's a pain in the ass, really, it's usually an ad celebrating Hispanic heritage, a t-shirt distributed at an event, a Hispanic fiesta in a particular location, etc, etc, etc.

The irony of it all is that in South and Central America there's no "Hispanic" heritage. Mexicans celebrate being Mexican, this "Hispanic" word was invented by JFK to create a race where there is no race. Of course, in America everyone is hyphenated, so clients wanting to reach a particular community love to do stupid heritage events.

Well, the Lexus should have Jewish pride stickers since so many Jews are apparently rich and want expensive cars. (I am Jewish and at my shul, there are so many Mercedes, BMWs, Porsches, Audis, Lexus, and Acuras, and poor me I drive a pick up truck).

Obviously, the Japs don't know the difference between people who buy their cars, and the people who steal them. Apparently, it's not just their cars that suck, but their market research also.

BTW, what country do Hispanics come from?

How about a sticker that says "Recall proof car"?

---I can tell you from experience that a hardworking illegal alien has more money than a welfare-taking negro any day. There was a study about "unbanked" Hispanics and how they kept thousands of dollars under mattress, in secret compartments in belts, jackets, etc.

I've been to stores in Mexican gettoes in Dallas where you'll fnid sombreros selling for $300 and boots for $500.

The japs know what they're doing. I know marketing, you can't get an idea done without at least 10 people going over it.

Besides I love the japs. Nissan, Toyota and Honda have plants all over the south. The make cars that are economical, reliable, fuel efficient without receiving a single government dime.

I don't disagree with you Bobby, but that doesn't change the fact that the overwhelming majority of cars stolen, (Hondas and Toyotas) are stolen by so-called Hispanics. (source:Auto Ins. Assoc., FBI,)

---I guess that's true, I also guess most of those Hispanics would be illegal aliens of Mexican descent.
