"Offensive" to look like Obama?

Or is it offensive to portray Obama as dancing? Nobody seems to know. They are just offended and that is that.
"An elementary school principal is barring a fifth-grader from wearing a Barack Obama mask in the school's talent show because parents have complained it's inappropriate.

Dru Lechert-Kelly, 11, hoped to dress presidentially and dance to a YouTube parody that features an Obama look-alike and a rap called "I Can Do Whatever I Like." The skit features him in a navy blue suit, white shirt, red tie, black shoes and an Obama mask purchased at a costume shop -- one like Obama himself once donned for a Saturday Night Live sketch. The choreographed routine rehearsed Thursday ends with Dru on the floor in the splits and was met with applause from students and teachers.

But some parents objected. "I talked to the parents who are coordinating the talent show, and they feel it's inappropriate and potentially offensive," said Steve Powell, principal of Llewellyn Elementary School in Portland. He declined to say specifically why it might be offensive.

The kid could make it a two person dance and have the other kid wear a Bush mask. Then it would be ok.

The source link just links back to the post...

Because I can't assume anything about the child's ethnic origins from his name....

How long before someone compares wearing the bambi mask to going "black face."

It includes a picture.
Dru is white, and a child of a gay couple. "Black Face" was mentioned in the story, but as a gay couple, they are a bigger minority than blacks so think they should get a pass.

Plus, the kid is a big fan of bambi.

A clash between the two most protected classes we have? Now that's exciting! Life was so much easier before last Nov. Then, you could make fun of the president all you wanted and no one would say a word. In fact, they would incourage you. My only question is, how much did the gays pay for the kid?

That they are both protected classes is a fact. That, generally speaking, blacks are notoriously anti-gay is also a fact.

"blacks are notoriously anti-gay is also a fact."

---They are.

Yet I know history, I say someone needs to remind them that not too long ago they where slaves. Not too long ago their men where called "bucks," their women "wenches," and their children "litter" or "pickanninies."

Not too long ago interracial marriage used to be a crime, sometimes black men where even castrated as punishment for real or perceive interracial improprieties, that they had to seat in the back of the bus, that there was no affirmative action, and that segregation was the rule of the land.

And now the adopted son of two taxpayers who can actually afford to raise a child unlike the sambos who breed like rabbits can't even do a song and dance act about our elected mulatto. What a shame.

---They where good for some people, my point of that post is that before blacks get to put down anyone, they need to look at their own history.

"And yes, i would be offended if i looked like Obomber. Have ya seen those ears? He looks like a taxi with it's doors open!"

---Damn big ears, bigger than Bush. And did you see that mole on the left side of his nose? You'd think with all his money he would have seen a good dermatologist.

But still, women love him, but I'm different. Black is not my color, LOL.
