A chaplain must not mention God??
We read:
"A chaplain at a Florida hospice says she has resigned due to a ban on use of the words "God" or "Lord" in certain public settings. The Rev. Mirta Signorelli said that Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton told her and other chaplains on Feb. 23 to "cease and desist from using God in prayers," the Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
That ban on religious references, she said, rendered her incapable of doing her job. "I can't do chaplain's work if I can't say 'God' — if I'm scripted," Signorelli told the Sentinel.
Hospice by the Sea CEO Paula Alderson said the restriction applies only to staff meetings. Ministers, priests and rabbis still are free to speak about God when counseling patients or families in private. "I was sensitive to the fact that we don't impose religion on our staff, and that it is not appropriate in the context of a staff meeting to use certain phrases or 'God' or 'Holy Father,' because some of our staff don't believe at all," she told the Sentinel.
But Signorelli said the policy also forced her to watch her language when leading prayer in the hospice chapel, and when meeting patients in public settings like nursing homes or weekly patient conferences with doctors, nurses and social workers, the Sentinel reported. "If you take God away from me, it's like taking a medical tool away from a nurse,” she told the paper.

I think that's understating things a bit. It's more like taking away the entire modern practice of medicine and replacing it with chicken entrails, eyes of newts and incantations.
This isn't the first resignation I've seen over these unconscionable violations of the 1st Amendment. Every time I see one, I'm reminded of Acts 4:
And when [the rulers, elders and scribes] had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
Acts 4:18-20
And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:31
Socialism does not mix well with God and religion. So, one of the first priorities of The New Order (ie: the Obomber govt.) is to do away with them both.
A people who refuse to fight for their religious beliefs and rights, don't deserve to have any.
Hello Good Gentles All!
Glad to be back.

Very well said.
As our Lord Himself said, "either you are against Me or you are for Me."
Communists and socialists understand this perfectly.
The difference is that God gives each man a choice follow Him or not as he chooses.
Communists, socialists, et. al. deny freedom of conscience and you will either follow willingly or you will be forced.
Communism and socialism are profound evils because they deny the most basic human freedom - that a man shall be allowed follow his God and his conscience as he sees fit.

P.S. I read an hilarious use of Obama's name as an acronym:

If you read the click-thru story on the Sun-Sentinal site, you can see the winning quote:
"Alderson said she was surprised by Signorelli's reaction to what she characterized as a minor administrative directive aimed solely at improving the decorum of monthly staff meetings, where the desired tone from a chaplain should be motivational, not religious."
In short, I think Alderson needs to invest in a dictionary to determine what "chaplain" means.
I'd expected this from the UK, not *YET* from the US.
Seems things are moving faster than expected.
America, and especially it's people, have become an international embarrassment, as they are now seen as the symbol of weakness. America "was" known the world over as a free country, where the people ruled their government. My, how things have changed. Sad.
