Cheerleaders Chastised for 'Inappropriate' Breast Cancer T-Shirts

We read:
"Cheerleaders at Gilbert High School in Gilbert, Ariz., can’t wear the pink t-shirts they bought to raise money for breast cancer research because the school’s administrators claim the slogan they bear is inappropriate.

According to a Thursday report in the Arizona Republic, the squad’s shirts say “Feel for lumps, save your bumps,” and the team planned to wear them during the school’s football games during their cheers on the field and while collecting money from the crowd.

Gaylee Skowronek, the cheer booster club president, told the Arizona Republic the administration approved the squad’s plan to raise money, but the school’s principal, J. Charles Santa Cruz, objected to the slogan on the shirts and banned the cheerleaders from wearing them.

This is not the first time breast cancer awareness campaigns have caused a stir for edgy messages. The Keep a Breast Foundation makes bracelets and t-shirts that say “I [heart] Boobies” and distributes them to young people with the goal of raising their breast cancer awareness. The bracelets have been banned by several school districts across the U.S., but in April, a federal judge in Pennsylvania upheld public school students’ rights to wear them.

The belief that condoms prevent the spread of AIDs and other diseases is as bad as superstition. You prefer your world of promiscuity over prudence toward sex, hence your rush to label anybody that shows such prudence as a hypocrite.

3:21 : are you a troll? Yeah rite - my world of "promiscuity"! (you clearly don't know my life - so why fantacize about it!)
If you really don't think condoms prevent sperm fluids escaping most rubber condoms, then clearly you don't understand simple physics.
Of course you can ask or demand that people don't have sex in the way you would like, but then you might as well howl at the Moon!

Not all young people are jumping in bed with each other. I took a virginity oath when i was 12 and still follow it at age 17, I am 17,a boy and proud of being a virgin. I see nothing wrong with what the cheerleaders have on their shirts they want to wear.A lot of people have their minds in the garbage.

I'm no more troll than somebody who doesn't understand that condoms can break, or might have holes where they are least expected, but believes that is better protection than abstinence because he or she wouldn't want to people to be prudent about sex and have that get in the way of sexual conquests for the sake of bragging to the world.

What a load. Somebody find me an address, I'll send a donation, if for no other reason than to piss off this PC twit.

Good luck Anonymouse convincing all the populations of the world to practise abstinence! You live in a fool's paradise as much as the Pope does. He can't even get his own so-called celibate priests to practise it!
btw. your argument about the very occasional condom that might possibly have a tiny hole is like saying don't ever be vaccinated because some vaccines can fail.

8:04 - If you are indeed only 17 years old now you're likely to have a permanent wrist injury by the time you marry (if you were maybe considering your late 20's or early 30's). By then you'd probably have got so used to the satisfying wrist-action that marriage would come as something of an anti-climax (excuse pun) - life's a bitch, or in your case probably not!

What matters most is not that I can get anybody to practice chastity, but that people hear the truth that chastity is right and good. If that seed lands on fertile ground, so much the better. If you choose to worship at the church of the mighty O(rgasm) and think of female breasts only in terms of sex, that is up to you, but it doesn't make the man trying to prevent them being referenced as 'bumps' a hypocrite. The PCism here is to keep them labeled as sex objects.

As I said Anonymouse - I do wish you luck in your campaign, but I fear it's doomed, and the only seed spilling on the ground will be yours (à la Onan, in case you didn't get the quip).

And there you have it again. For some reason, you harbor the belief that my existence must revolve about that all powerful entity the big (O)rgasm. Small wonder you fear the lack of willing concubines for the ritual condom sacrifice at that altar.

Anonymouse - regular orgasm (ejaculation in males) is necessary for a healthy body - and to avoid cancer of the prostate and other male reproductive organs. But psychological problems may also result if you are suppressing normal sexual urges. I hope you will not compensate with alcohol, drugs or other medication, and especially not resort to anti-social and aggressive thoughts. (Not sure if that is related to your mention of "concubines" and "alters" - hopefully not!!).

Full disclosure-I LOVE boobies. Alot. Srsly.

@12:34- Good for you. But I will point out that there has never been a shortage of people willing to have sex. And there never will be. Because if you do it right it's FUN! Hopefully you'll figure that out eventually.

@3:21- Let's try science! Male barrier contraception has a failure rate (as per the last Consumer Reports tests) on average of less than 3%. In the event of equipment failure the chance of infection is greatly reduced if the equipment is withdrawn when the break is detected (you'll know when it happens, trust me). I managed to screw my way through a good chunk of Southeast Asia and Europe during my USMC days and NEVER caught anything more impressive than the flu.

So, if the failure rate is low and you're only at risk if your partner is infected when you have a failure....you wanna try math skills next?

You people are missing the point. It was submitted that trying to prevent the objectification of female body parts was being politically correct. In this case, the opposite is true. It is being politically correct to insist that female body parts remain objectified as sex objects (i.e. calling them bumps or boobies). The evidence on display is how much flack my statements receive.
