No freedom to teach?
A radio ad for a handgun training class that bars Muslims and Obama voters has sparked an investigation in Texas.
"We will attempt to teach you all the necessary information you need to obtain your [Concealed Handgun License]," the ad says. Then towards the end, it adds: "If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner in chief, please do not take this class. You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision under the law."
And then: "If you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you the class with no shame; I am Crockett Keller, thank you, and God bless America."
The ad ran for six days on KHLB, Mason's local station. It's also been heard tens of thousands of times on Youtube.
The Department of Public Safety said in a statement that certified instructors of handgun training are required to comply with all applicable state and federal laws, and added: "Conduct by an instructor that denied service to individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity or religion would place that instructor's certification by the Department at risk of suspension or revocation."
It seems unlikely that Keller will back down, though. "I'm not going to do it," he told the local news. "I will give up my license to teach before I will teach them," he said, referring to Obama voters and Muslims.

At least he didn't say no jews or fags (or maybe that's later!).
All you conservatards must be proud of this guy.
VERY, VERY PROUD!!
Why would any rational person want to train the enemy?
I want to live in a country where this guy is free to teach who he wants. People can always get their training elsewhere.
I'm not saying that I agree with him, because he's going to lose his license, which doesn't make business sense.

The same government that castigates the instructor would also castigate parents or schools who do not appreciate government foisting educational programs on children detailing the benefits of experimenting with buggery.
Governance attacts all manner of retards that desire the prestige and import of a title and position.
The same government which is threatening to pull his license is the same one which sold assault rifles to Mexican drug cartels. Need I say more?
"Political correctness is a greater threat to our freedom and liberty than is terrorism..."
Hey PC goons GET A LIFE CRY BABIES
While the sentiments this guy expresses are understandable, the fact of the matter is he has chosen to be in the public domain for his business. As such, he has to agree to the laws of the land, which include not discriminating on the basis of race and creed.
If you think this is simply "PC talk," imagine if you were driving and your car ran out of gas. You drift into a station and the guy behind the counter says "are you a Buddhist? Sorry - we don't sell gas to anyone but other Buddhists."
You would be infuriated.
When people enter the public realm, there are rules and laws. People are free and in fact welcome to try and change those laws and rules, but they should not be able to act like a petulant child saying "Mommy, I am not going to abide by that law" without consequences.
Liberals can blabber all they want about free speech and such they dont practice it at all

Your example is ridiculous. In any case, if there were a gas station that only sold gas to Buddhists (or Christians or whites or blacks etc), I can guarantee you he will go out of business because across the street will be a gas station that will sell to anyone, and at a better price because they would do a lot more business.
The fact is that 99% of laws are just government interference telling people how to live and what to think and generally creating problems. And these laws aren't going anywhere because the political class gets their power from them.

Your example is ridiculous.
Thank you for your opinion and your ability not to reason through what was said.
No one forced this guy to be in the public domain. He made the choice and agreed to the rules.
He can take his ball and go home, but he can't operate a business.
Like any other free human he should have the right to pass on his knowledge or not as he chooses. He should have the right to associate or NOT associate with any one he chooses based on any criteria he wants. Even if he simply dose not like the way a person walks he should have the right to refuse to teach them. The government is not paying for his services or subsidizing him in any way. The government did not provide his training and I am sure he had to pay for the testing and certification he needed as well as pay for the license. All the government did was sell him a license that attests he knows the material he is teaching. Therefore the government should have no right to tell him who he must associate with or who he must pass his knowledge on to,
He should have the right to be as obnoxious and discriminating in his business as he desires, if that causes his business to fail then that is a lesson he may learn.
That's the problem with the left, they think more laws to make everyone play "fair" are always required which is why we have all of these non-discrimination laws when the simple truth is that the marketplace will normally correct this kind of ignorance on it's own.
All the extra laws just empower more two-bit tyrants (almost always more leftists BTW) who use their ability to enforce their petty little law or laws to intimidate anyone they wish to persecute.
What's this "public realm" crap anyway? Are you in the public realm anytime you step outside your home? It's a private business, isn't it? By selecting who he wants to teach, it sounds like there is a defacto private membership. The only reason he even has to have a license is because of some government regulation.
There is no such thing as a "public realm". All there is is intrusive, overreaching government laws and regulations. Since the government class derives it's power from all these laws and regulations, they are not going anywhere anytime soon.
A person can't help where he is born. But no matter where he is born, he should be born free and allowed to live free. He shouldn't have to "take is ball and go home" just because someone else doesn't agree with his business plan.

IIRC, He actually acknowledged that he knew he would likely lose his license, and he was okay with that.
He would rather stand by his principles.
Would that more of our politicians felt the same way (or had any principles at all).
As a member of the NRA, I find this behavior embarrassing. What about Muslims who hate radical Islam? What about Muslim preachers persecuted by other Muslims for being "Muslim Incorrect"? It's not easy telling people that gun owners aren't bigots when you have this teacher acting like a bigot.
Yes, he has the freedom to do that, but does it make it right? Does it help the Second Amendment? Will this not lead to more government interference? Many years ago before I discovered libertarianism, I was a liberal, yet the gun owners I met online took the time to educate me about my second amendment rights. They didn't say "you're a goddamm liberal and we don't want you owning guns," instead they asked me to read links about the Second Amendment, took the time to educate me, and gave me a whole new perspective.
Today I am proud to be a missionary for the Second Amendment, I am proud to reach out to Muslims, gays, and anyone else who might be interested in not becoming a victim with the lawful ownership of firearms.
So to that teacher who won't teach to Muslims, all I can say is you're not acting in your own best interests nor helping the Second Amendment in any way.
PC just another code word for SOCIALISM
