Chicago High School decides to use 'Straight Pride' Shirts for Rights Education‏

After initially opposing them
"A Chicago high school has decided to allow a small group of students to wear "Straight Pride" T-shirts, despite resistance from other students who say they found the clothing offensive on a week that the school was bringing attention to the bullying of gays, lesbians and transgenders.

A spokesman for St. Charles North High School says the decision was intended to be an educational moment.

“Considering they’re teenagers and becoming more socially aware, we need to do our job as educators,” Director of School and Community Relations Jim Blaney told FoxNews.com. “We need to help students find their way through this new world.”

Now that's a refreshing perspective from educators. You don't see that often.

That any government-funded indoctrination camp would allow "anything" that gays disagree with is not only refreshing, but amazing! This is also another opportunity for people to see how gays, those who demand tolerance from everyone, are so void of tolerance themselves.

"...despite resistance from other students who say they found the clothing offensive on a week that the school was bringing attention to the bullying of gays, lesbians and transgenders."

You see, this is the problem that we face today. Basically what they are saying is that if the students had worn the "Straight Pride" shirts on any other week, it would be OK. Of course we all know that is a load of crap that the students would have been chastised on ANY week.

Freedoms and rights are for all times, not when it is convenient or the least offensive.

Todays schools are the first phase of the Left's plan for social engineering.

When the first three jackasses showed up with the bible quote implying gays should be killed, and the school decided that "wasn't" a threat...well then hello to Taliban High.

The next day, when two different students showed up with shirts that just said "Straight Pride". Then yes, their 1st amendment rights were violated when they were told to cover their shirts.

I love to listen to all these armchair wannabe parents, who have no clue what's going on in schools, because that haven't been near a classroom in years.

1:34 - do you ever read the Bible?

See Leviticus Chapter 20, verse 13 (KJV)

Ah yes, using the Old Testament as source. Also stoning adulterers is in there too.

One problem. Jesus ended stoning as a punishment in the New Testament. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." That ends stoning as a punishment.

Try reading the Bible yourself.

BTW, why do people who slam Christians always use the Old Testament to do it?

6:58 PM - Why don't you read the thread and the question that 1:34 AM asked, and was answered correctly!

sorry, that should read 6:58 AM

Re the very nice story about casting the first stone, it only appears in JOHN and only in later copies of that gospel, so many bible scholars think it was a later addition and not what Jesus had said, though maybe derived from stories circulating that possibly had a basis of truth to them.

If they want to wear "Straight Pride" shirts they should. Does it make sense? No, heterosexuality was never a crime against nature under the law, I don't know anyone who has been discharged from the army for coming out of the closet as a heterosexual, Oscar Wilde wasn't tried for his adventures with women, but hey, if these kids feel they need to engage in the same tactics of the gays they despise, let them.

And to those who are offended, sorry, that's the price of freedom.
