No government in the bedroom

We read:
"Three cheers for the judge in Los Angeles who dismissed the petition to mandate condom use in adult films. While the spread of sexually transmitted diseases is a serious concern, even more serious is the threat of letting the government into our bedrooms — even if those bedrooms have lights and cameras. Frankly, I’m surprised this petition came from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, which runs the ‘Out of the Closet’ thrift stores and advocates for, among other things, understanding of the gay and lesbian communities.”

It's not surprising at all. AIDS in America is almost entirely a homosexual disease so this is just homsexuals trying to protect themselves at the expense of everybody else. They really want condoms in homosexual films but for "equality" they want to apply it to all films.

WTF? So people shouldn't care about it?!

The condoms are a safety measure, like hard hats at a construction site, eye protectors in chemical labs, or gloves at meat packing plants. I guess those shouldn't be mandated either?

By the way, a lot of straight male actors in the adult film industry, work in both straight and gay films (the pay is better for them in gay films apparently). So if this is a gay disease, as you described it, then they are crossing it over into a straight disease. Every time there is an adult film actor that tests positive the chances are it is too late for others that actor worked with. Condoms at least offer some line of defense.

    Misleading title, sir.

It's not the bedroom, it's the industry.

Anon: 3:04. It's a fact, not a judgment. Spending for AIDS is still quite a lot higher that for a lot of very common problems.

A straight actor would not work in a gay film which requires him to perform homosexual acts. He may like to think he's straight, or try to convince others that he's straight, but he's not. Or, is this simply the excuse you use to justify your own actions.

---Why not? Gay actors have performed in straight films, straight women have done lesbian scenes, after all, it's ACTING.

Besides, behavior and sexual orientation are not the same thing. Anyone can get paid to do anything, but it's what you feel inside that counts. And let's face it, the appeal of porn can be huge, making $500, $1,000 or $3,000for a few hours of work is very enticing.

Besides, AIDS and other sexual diseases are rare in porn, everyone is required to get tested before a shoot and if anyone comes out positive for anything that person will not be allowed to perform even with a condom.

So Bobby, does that mean you would do a movie and let some guy bend you over for $500.?

"So Bobby, does that mean you would do a movie and let some guy bend you over for $500.?"

---Actually, that's what straight porn pays to a man. Gay porn pays $1,500 if you're the top (penetrator) and up to $3,000 if you're the bottom. Sometimes there's no penetration, you either get a BJ or they just shoot you playing with yourself.

Would I do it? I've been tempted, so desperate for money that I actually applied to a porn company online, but was rejected. In a way I'm glad I was rejected because I think once you do porn you will not be the same person again.

I don't know if its a mortal sin but people who do porn always run into the danger of being recognized by their friends, family, employwer. Isn't that ironic? Porn is supposed to be such a bad thing yet everyone is watching.

"The safest sex is with your married faithful spouse AND you don't need condoms for that! "

---Come on, I'm 34 and I've never been married. There's only so much porn I can watch, LOL.

    I found some interesting statistics:

53% of Promise Keeper men viewed pornography the previous week in one study

22 percent of married men have strayed at least once during their married lives.

14 percent of married women have had affairs at least once during their married lives.

-Up to 37% of men and 22% of women admit to having affairs. Researchers think the vast majority of the millions of people who visit chat rooms, have multiple "special friends".

I'm not saying monogamy doesn't exist, I'm saying I'd rather sleep with a prostitute who makes me wear a condom than with a wife who sleeps with the mailman and then passes me whatever diseases she's catching.

so you don't use a condom either. My point stands.

---Of course I used a condom, in my life I can count with my fingers the times I haven't used condoms (3).

In fact, if you're dating some girl and she tells you she's on the pill, be careful, some of them lie, some of them punch holes at the condom using a needle, some of them want to get pregnatn and get you stuck with child support.

Great system we have, a woman can lie to a man, get pregnant and then sue him for child support.

I don't see what this has to do with "tongue tied". It's just what Anonymous said: an industry safety measure. What I would like to know is what sort of cross-over does this have with laws regarding prostitution - because if people are being paid to have real live sex, even in front of the camera, it's a form of prostitution.

---Ever seen an action film? Jackie Chan does his own stunts and sometimes he breaks a leg or an arm, should an industry safety measure be passed to prohibit dangerous stunts? I don't think so. As long as people aren't coerced, they should do as they want.

---I don't think it has any crossover, people like Larry Flynt have faced obscenity charges, the performers are rarely charged since they are paid to act. And yes, it is acting, even if the man has an erection, even if the woman makes noises, it's all an act and the director can and does say "cut" whenever he wants.

Besides, porn is a lot better than prostitution, the money is certainly better, there's more safety since you're unlikely to meet a serial killer on a porn set, you're sleeping with people that have been tested, ask Jenna Jameson, would she be a millionare if she had become a hooker instead of a pornstar?
