Milk can be called inhumane, advertising chiefs tell farmers after vegan campaign

Vegan campaigners are free to brand British milk production as inhumane after a ruling by the advertising regulator.

Dairy farmers had argued that an advert stating “humane milk is a myth — don’t buy it” was inaccurate but the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) will clear it in a ruling to be published today.

The decision is a blow to the dairy industry, which is losing customers as people switch to vegetarian or vegan diets.

The Vegan Society says that there are more than 540,000 vegans in Britain, up from 150,000 a decade ago. Hard-hitting billboard campaigns warning against consuming milk, eggs and meat have become a common sight on high streets.

Go Vegan World, the campaign group that placed the anti-milk advert in national newspapers…

  3. What seems to be the problem here? All this hate towards vegans?!? Veganism carries at least three potential advantages:
avoidance of animal mistreatment and slaughter
    elimination of certain health risks
    reduction of environmental footprint

"avoidance of animal mistreatment and slaughter" - I hope you don't wear leather shoes or eat gelatin dishes. A VAST number of products are made from pigs alone. Bet you didn't know that.

"elimination of certain health risks" - See above.

"reduction of environmental footprint" - "Environmental" is a big word covering a great many things (land, ocean, atmosphere, living, working). Specify precisely what environment, damage done and provide proof.

I don't want to hear some imbecilic diatribe from a green website that simply parrots yet more rubbish from other activist websites without proof either. Do some work for a change.
