Must not joke about African names

As Steve Martin found:

Martin was joking with fans when a follower asked him, “Is this how you spell lasonia?” Martin replied: “It depends. Are you in an African-American neighborhood or at an Italian restaurant?”

He was joking about how similar the African name "lasonia" sounded to "lasagna"

He got into big trouble

    The things and/words people find offensive change over time. I wonder who keeps the magic list and lets us know when it's time to be offended. Just my observation, but being appears to often be a choice made by the offended.
