The Boarding Schools Association has told teachers to learn a 'new language' as part of official guidance which is aimed at 'queering the education system'.
The advice aims to help teachers navigate the 'minefield' of gender identity and deal with children and young adults who do not want to be referred to by male or female pronouns.
As part of it teachers have been told to address children by their 'pronoun of choice', including they or 'zie'.
Alex Thompson, deputy chief executive of the Boarding Schools' Association, said the guidelines hope to help school staff who may be 'in the dark'.

It must be so much harder in other languages like French and German where there so much more gender-based grammar.

That's just for today. I am fluid, so tomorrow the rules may be different.
Inventing completely new gender-neutral pronouns is bound to be very awkward to use even in a closed environment like a school and even when everyone is trying to comply. It would be best instead to use the person's acknowledged name each time or refer indirectly as this or that person in question. Using "they/them/their" for a single person is also confusing, even if "you" and "yours" was originally plural or formal("thou/thee/thine" being the original singular).
