The human body is designed for "feast and famine" living - storing excess energy as fat during the good times in anticipation of the bad times. It's all about evolution in a "calorie poor" environment.<br /><br />That "poor people" can become obese is a tribute to our solving the "caloric famine" that plagued our forefathers.<br /><br />Unfortunately, this "epidemic" of caloric excess has led to the problem of obesity, which is only correctable through personal decision making.
