If a dozen or more kids were wearing them, the novelty would wear off and no one would notice. It would have been better to just ignore it. Now the school has to back down to a couple of kids.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32538379.post-44446850952210692192013-08-13T06:22:05.260+12:002013-08-13T06:22:05.260+12:00"Political correctness is a far greater threa..."Political correctness is a far greater threat to our freedom and liberty than is terrorism..." -- SpiderAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32538379.post-21408129654034961772013-08-13T03:41:54.570+12:002013-08-13T03:41:54.570+12:00how about I Heart Guns?

They can't keep Sikh students from wearing their ceremonial daggers. So there is some wiggle room. Bracelets cannot be completely banned, and then the argument about what constitutes an undue restriction on expression follows. This is just part of that discussion. If the US is not prepared to go that way, then they might try insisting on no writing on schoolchildren's clothing - thereby avoiding the issue of which "speech" to ban.Malcolm Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00672612354161787023noreply@blogger.com
