That's a serious accusation which would live forever on the internet.

The falsely accused woman began to get death threats.

So instead of doing the right thing and deleting the tweet and apologizing, the woman doubled down and insulted her again, which a judge took to mean the offending tweeter was serious.

The wrongly accused woman then made the offer to the woman to apologize, donate 5000 pounds to a charity or else go to court.

The woman chose court.

She lost. Big.

She not only has to pay the $24K but also over $300,000 in legal fees.

"Freedom of speech" does not mean "freedom from consequences." You have the right to say whatever you want (for the most part) but people that you slander or libel also have the right to combat your lies.

That's all that happened here.

A liar refused to be an adult and has to pay the price.

Good.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32538379.post-40022878919388445692017-03-13T02:03:39.475+13:002017-03-13T02:03:39.475+13:00 so-called liberals are okay with desecrating what... so-called liberals are okay with desecrating what liberalism means.

I avoid things such as Twitter and Facebook like the plague !

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
