If the sites aren't secure (and recent events suggest they are not), then it makes sense to forbid military computers to visit those sites. That doesn't prevent military personnel from accessing Twitter and Facebook on their own personal computers. You can always depend on conservatives to present only part of the story.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32538379.post-25100455440381717082009-08-11T01:05:59.553+12:002009-08-11T01:05:59.553+12:00Anon 3:17 -- Show me a poor man who provides jobs ...Anon 3:17 -- Show me a poor man who provides jobs for people. These social networking sites they are making a policy against visiting are currently a favorite vector for introducing malware onto other people's computers.

The military simply wants their personnel to stay away from those kinds of sites while working on their military computers. They've already stated that it's ok for their people to visit those sites using their own computers, just not with the ones belonging to the military.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32538379.post-5109773813565744472009-08-09T22:17:40.793+12:002009-08-09T22:17:40.793+12:00The grunts are using these sites like a Whore Hous...The grunts are using these sites like a Whore House menu.

Can't say I blame them. For example, they can't do porn, not even erotic pictures without facing a dishonorable discharge, they have to mantain certain standards and keep certain secrets. Facebook, myspace and twitter would allow a disgrunted marine to reach hundreds if not thousands of people. Then the military would be forced to spend resources monitoring social networking sites. I think it makes sense to ban it.Bobbynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32538379.post-9310004414430263422009-08-09T09:04:52.946+12:002009-08-09T09:04:52.946+12:00The old trickle down theory - where the rich piss ...The old trickle down theory - where the rich piss on the poor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32538379.post-56489383857773943752009-08-09T07:00:57.783+12:002009-08-09T07:00:57.783+12:00Anon 3:17, conservative ideology has made even the...Anon 3:17, conservative ideology has made even the "poor" in the US richer than a good part of the rest of the world. Isn't having our military plans and secrets on the front page of the NY Slimes enough?

I'm waiting for someone to do an indepth study to see how many serious crimes can be attributed to all the personal info these fools put on such web sites. Every stupid idea usually ends up blowing-up in the faces of Americans. Eventually, this facebook/twitter/twatter, etc. will be no different. It's just an electronic form of crack that's making a few people VERY rich. But you're not one of those few. Chances are, you're just a user.
