Must not suggest that blacks tend to like fried chicken

Garcia was on stage with his Ryder Cup teammates at a European Tour gala awards evening at the BMW PGA Championship when he was asked by compere Steve Sands from Golf Channel if he would invite Woods over for dinner at the US Open. "We will have him 'round every night," Garcia said prompting laughs from the room. Then he added the remark that caused intakes of breath. "We will serve fried chicken." It brought back memories of when Fuzzy Zoeller made a similar remark about Tiger after Woods won the 1997 Masters. The tour veteran lost sponsorship deals, including a contract with Kmart.

Garcia issued an apology almost immediately and Wednesday attended a hastily arranged press conference to make a public apology. He looked ash-faced and sounded distraught. He said "sorry" or "apologize" 15 times in eight minutes. So did he consider his joke racist? "Not at all. It wasn't meant that way," he said. "I was caught off guard in what seemed to be a funny question and tried to give a funny answer that came out wrong.

Isn't Woods also more Thai than Black? Recall father is half Thai and mom is Thai. Doesn't that make him more Thai?

Anon 4:22 you are quite right. If he were not the "celebrity" he is, they would then consider him Thai. But, since he's made mountains of money, and loves to collect White women, he's black.

KFC and Popeye's better keep an eye out and not let him in the door.

By the way, on the topic of chicken:

Melt a half stick of butter
Add two or three tbs lemon juice
Add two or three tbs lime jice
A little lemon pepper
A little lime pepper (hard to find, but it's out there)
A dash of Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb Seasoning.

Prepare 4 to 6 skinless chicken brests - trim fat, etc.

Place chicken breasts in large freezer bag.

Heat marinade until warm, butter should be fully liquid. Pour marinade into freezer bag with the chicken. Expel as much air as possible, zip the freezer bag shut. Squish things around until all chicken is coated. Put in refrigerator for a couple hours, or overnight is you wish.

Barbeque over low heat. I use two burners on low, thermometer reads 250F to 300F. Turn breasts every five minutes for fifteen to twenty minutes. If you're fussy use a meat thermometer and head for 140F to 160F depending on taste. I just watch the outside until it looks right then slice one open to see what it looks like inside.

Your choice of sides. We like potato salad, watermelon cubes or cantaloupe cubes. And, of course, liquid refreshment of some kind.

Mmmmmm good!
